Village boundaries

Posted by donaciano on 19 November 2010 in English.

Started using the village name signs along the road to define rough boundaries. This will make the points of interest show up in the right place in the search results. If you don't have a boundary or an is_in tag they will often show up as being in the wrong place since the search program has to guess which they belong to.

I'm working on boundaries too (see my edits), but in Belgium, we have old (from the years 1800's) maps of all villages. The maps are so old they fall under PD and thus can be used. Since the boundaries aren't changed in many cases, the maps can still be used. Maybe you can search the libraries of your own government for such maps. I don't know if they exist.

greets,
Sander
