when placing these down; what is the universally accepted placement and direction of signal lights?
Is it the location of pole and direction of lights controlling traffic. Or is it attached to the Roadway and pointed in the direction of signaling? Any help would be appreciated…
The Wiki info on usage is very generic in wording..

I agree with Ivanbranco that the forum is a better place to ask this question.
That said, I map the traffic signals on the road at the actual stop position. See: highway=traffic_signals#Tag_all_incoming_ways

n76, I had been seeing a variety of ways at similar type intersections, and was wanting to standardize the traffic signals to all act similar or being faster to understand to a newer editor or person. Thank you for your help.
