Dennoch, von der verlängerten KVB-Linie ist vor Ort noch nichts zu sehen: keine Gleise, keine Baustelle, keine Vermessungsarbeiten, keine Bau-Vorbereitungen.
Ich würde mal sagen, wir tragen die Bahn dann ein, wenn die auch tatsächlich existiert.

mit JOSM geht das ganz einfach:
* erstmal auf einer Seite einen Punkt auf die Straße setzen.
* den Punkt im Focus halten/oder in den Focus nehmen (anclicken)
* dort den Weg trennen (Tools/Split Way).
* Mit der anderen Seite das gleiche.
* das Stück zwischen den beiden Punkten anclicken, das ist jetzt ein eigenständiger Weg, löschen.
Fertig.

Maybe its possible to render the garmin-maps in an autonomous way directly from OSM data, but i dont know how to do this.

im Zweifel, ob die Daten hochgeladen wurden, speicher doch einfach deine bearbeiteten Daten als Datei, ich mache das grundsätzlich, ein Backup bei sich selbst zu haben ist immer gut.
Dann, JOSM schliessen oder die Daten wegwerfen und danach neu holen, dann ist klar ob die übertragen wurden oder nicht.

Ach ja, ich habe auch schonmal >3 Wochen auf eine Mapnik-Renderung gewartet, keine Ahnung was da los war.

Hello Bruce and Rob, Tracks/Setup/DataCardSetup/LogTrackToDataCard :-( just writes the GPS-Tracklogs to the card, this works fine, but this does not save any Waypoint information e.g. I put a waypoint somewhere and label it "Postgasse" e.g. to know the name of this way later.

Concerning the saved tracks to external card there is one more bad thing i like to mention: once the data is saved i cannot access it later on without the help of an external computer, e.g. to watch the GPS-traces a week or more back / e.g. to see if i have already been somewhere.
My device only stores usable information for one day only.
Manually saving tracks each day "Tracks/Save" produces completely inacceptable results when mapping urban areas with a high non-linear motion profile. The device obviously tries to optimize the data to motion vectors and regularly produces crap data of unacceptable bad quality. I dont understand why, because in contrast the daily stored / displayed data is of excellent quality.

Lets see if garmin is a nice company offering a firmware-update,
or if they are patronising evil and just try to sell me $whatever_device[professional] with 3000 Waypoints capacity

I had the same thought last week, so i spend some hours mapping power lines and more than 600 power towers in the area around cologne, an easy job with the hi-res sat-images.
