over 4 years ago | I don't know how to draw borders for `landuse`=*. Perhaps I should stop.
over 4 years ago | This changeset will be undone.
over 4 years ago | Luckily for me, `public_transport=station` exists, and is general enough to include busway stations. However, iD automatically wants to add `amenity=bus_station` whenever I already have `public_transport=station`+`bus=yes`, so I don't completely know how to handle it.
over 4 years ago | BRT systems in general seem to do a great job at raising edge cases for OpenStreetMap. I was going to try to write a proposal for `station=busway`, but I ultimately gave up on that idea when I could not come up with a distinctive way to differentiate between a busway station, and a big fancy bus stop.
almost 5 years ago | What did you do?
almost 5 years ago | The bounding box for this changeset includes both the PAAC Silver Line (in Pittsburgh), and the MBTA Silver Line (in Boston).
about 5 years ago | Anyway, I think we can make a good case for a set of BRT-related tags.
about 5 years ago | I've had a lot of ideas about what I would actually write, but as I started to sit down and write, I forgot most of those ideas. I do know that there is a lot of nuance that goes into deciding exactly what tags a feature should use. Unfortunately, I don't quite understand this nuance.
about 5 years ago | This is my first time writing a feature proposal, and there is a lot that I would need to get right before submitting it. If you would like to help me, check out the guidelines for writing then: osm.wiki/Proposal_process
about 5 years ago | I was thinking that not only should grade-separated busways (such as the East Busway) be highlighted as prominently as light rail lines, but prominent bus stations (such as Atwood Station and East Liberty stations) should be as well.
about 5 years ago | I completely agree with your rationale. I've actually started drafting a proposal page for this: osm.wiki/Proposed_features/BRT
about 5 years ago | > Do not use this on normal paved roadways that are designated for buses only. One correct tagging for those is highway=service, access=no, bus=designated.

about 5 years ago | The East Busway is not a guided busway. It does not have tracks.
almost 6 years ago | Ignore the above link. I just commented out the map on that Wikipedia page, so it won't show up.
almost 6 years ago | Do you know what happened to the Wikidata tags on the various SEPTA regional rail routes? I had previously used them to create an interactive map of them on Wikipedia (see link below), but I noticed that this map is now broken. Was there something wrong with my use of these tags?
over 6 years ago | The wood on these steps was rotting by the time I made this change set.
