Welcome to OSM! Thank you for making the effort to contribute and improve the map. A couple of things I noticed:
- Street names should be fully expanded and capitalized. ("Rice st" should be "Rice Street")
- Texas DMV was misspelled in the operator tag on the parking lot.

Happy to answer any questions you may have. Happy mapping!

Hi FrontRangeUrbanEquestrians, there certainly is a lot of reading required to be able to understand everything that is going on - this is the nature of a collaborative project of this scale. I do agree with MxxCon that this sort of mapping is probably not fit for OSM proper, but there are tools based on OSM like uMap ( https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/ ) which allow you to make layers for personal use that don't meet the "on the ground principle" described above. However, mapping the presence (or absence) of sidewalks and designated horse features is a great way to contribute towards your goal, I think.

Welcome to OSM! Thank you for making the effort to contribute and improve the map. residential=gated is not really a meaningful tag on road ways. You can map the gate (please see the wiki for more information: barrier=gate )
and also mark the private roads with access=private. Happy to answer any more questions you may have!

Hello Mariam Riziq, I have reverted your changes since they are fictional and not verifiable - you are always welcome to contribute real information to the map and I would be happy to help you do that!

Welcome to OSM! Thank you for making the effort to contribute and improve the map. The service road should be continuous through the parking lot rather than disconnected at either end. Happy mapping!

Hello Reynard Oinomel, I have reverted your edits because they do not seem to be based in reality (fictitious mapping of parks). These edits impact everyone who uses the map, so please be careful in the future!

Fixed it!

Hello and welcome to OSM! You have deleted the highway tag and a building, which hopefully wasn't intentional - I went ahead and fixed that for you. In addition, I have removed the description you added - this is not a place to advertise your company, but rather to provide useful description to map users. Happy mapping!

Welcome to OSM! Thank you for making the effort to contribute and improve the map. This change looks good, but in general bicycle=designated is not necessary on highway=cycleway, since this access is implied by the type of tag it is (see the wiki for more information about this: osm.wiki/OSM_tags_for_routing/Access_restrictions#Worldwide ). If there's a particular routing issue you are trying to solve feel free to ask on OSMUS slack ( https://slack.openstreetmap.us/ ) or the community forums ( https://community.openstreetmap.org/ ) for assistance.

Happy mapping!

Hi, I'm the one who originally mapped the path that goes under Lakeline - it's not really a formal path but there is a culvert that is dry enough to walk through, and is frequently used that way. the Lakeline section is raised, but not really a bridge so I didn't tag it as such. Regardless, it's definitely not a zebra crossing. I can resolve that later today.

Hi, adding a node is not correct in addition to the area that you already mapped before. You must choose one or the other! osm.wiki/One_feature,_one_OSM_element

Welcome to OSM! Thank you for making the effort to contribute and improve the map. addr:housenumber does not belong on the road way. You can instead add it as a point, or draw a building for the primary residence and add it to that. I encourage you to check out the OSM Wiki, which has a helpful section on addresses.

Welcome to OpenStreetMap! For addr:street, please use the fully expanded version of the street name. "Aldine Westfield Rd" should instead be "Aldine Westfield Road". Happy mapping!

Hi Garret Dees

I noticed you made your first contribution to OpenStreetMap. Congratulations, and thanks! As of now, you can consider yourself part of the US OSM community. Your edit is live within a couple of minutes. You may have to refresh your browser to see your edit.

If you have any questions at all, we can help out: if you think you might have broken something, are in doubt how to map something particular, or just want to know more about OpenStreetMap, contact us!

Here are some useful things to get you started:

* OpenStreetMap's US Chapter runs a [Slack](https://slack.openstreetmap.us/) server. Slack is a collaboration tool for OSM mappers, organizers, and developers. Slack even has our own #local-washington-state channel where you can chat with other Washington mappers. This is a very active forum and the best way to get in touch with other local mappers in Washington and the rest of the United States.
* I highly recommend using the OSM [wiki-pages](osm.wiki/). If you're not sure how to map something within the editor of your choice, the quickest solution is look at [Map Features](osm.wiki/Map_Features) on the wiki. For more complicated questions you can ask/search on the [Help-site](https://help.openstreetmap.org/) or the #tagging channel on Slack.
* [learnOSM](https://learnosm.org) is a good place to learn more about OSM. Instructions are available for using the iD browser editor and the more advanced JOSM editor.
* Want to see who’s mapping near you, or want to see how much you’ve been doing yourself, check out the maps at [resultmaps.neis-one.org](https://resultmaps.neis-one.org/).
* If you are a business owner and want to learn how to add OpenStreetMap to your website, check out the site [Switch2OSM](https://switch2osm.org/)

So what should you map next? I highly recommend adding features around you. Restaurants, business, streets, sidewalks, benches, basically features that you know best. You are the expert. If you find a business already mapped, make sure there is an address. There is something satisfying about filling in the map around you. Or correcting a road when the local government makes changes to it. Do you have any special interests, like biking, hiking, or even trains? Did you know we have the best bike, hiking and train world wide networks of any site. But like everything else, they can always use improvements.

Happy Mapping!
