Hi! You marked V Street as under construction in this changeset, with an expected open date in 2023. Seems like it's probably open now, but since I'm not local I'm not sure. I figured you might know, though?

Hi. You created a number of railroads in this changeset that don't show up in any imagery. Can you confirm that this infrastructure exists in the real world? Perhaps it's new construction?

I know this is an old changeset, but are you sure about these basins? They don't look very wet in recent imagery. See this one as an example: way/704725477

Hi! Welcome to OSM and thanks for all the mapping you've been doing in the Traverse City area. Just wanted to drop you a quick note with some feedback.

Joining landuse areas (residential, commercial, etc.) to neighboring highways isn't strictly wrong, but it's not a best practice and can make both objects--the highway and the landuse area--more difficult to edit in the future. Best practice is to end the area at the curb, or some other sensible end point. After all, the middle of the highway isn't really a "residential" use.

Some documentation on the wiki here: osm.wiki/Land_use#1._Mapping_the_reality_on_the_ground

Hey, curious why the Lincoln River (N Branch) is marked as intermittent. Doesn't seem to me to meet that definition.

FYI, Google Maps can't be used as a reference when editing OSM. osm.wiki/Google

128595806 about 3 years ago

That's not accurate. In this case, Google Maps has old imagery. I was just there last week and these paths are very much still in place.

128595806 about 3 years ago

OK, I'm confused: Why did you delete paths in this changeset? They were accurately mapped and show up in current Bing imagery.

128483886 about 3 years ago

Um, again, I appreciate that you're working to improve the map, but you've made kind of a mess here. The roads at Historic Barns Park were reconfigured quite a few months ago, and they no longer match most of the satellite imagery.

Here's a tip: if the imagery you're using doesn't match the objects on the map, tread carefully. Your imagery may be out of date or misaligned. Don't make any radical changes unless you KNOW that they're correct.

Hello again! I have a bit more feedback on some of the changes you've been making. It's not a great practice to join ways and areas unless they're truly related.

For example, in this changeset you connected the foot path to the parking lot it's next to. This can make it harder to edit these objects in the future.

A better approach would be to trace down the center of the footway on the satellite imagery and not connect it to the parking lot area.

Thanks for fixing this up! Looks much better now.

Hi! Welcome to OSM! It's good to see you mapping. Just wanted to give you some feedback about your edits.

This: way/1105344186 is not the proper way to map a road that has a bulge at the end to allow cars to turn around. The right way to do it is to end the way at the center of the bulge and then tag the final point in the way as a turning circle (one contiguous bulge) or turning loop (has an island in the middle).

Do you mean "Marsh" rather than "March?"

127624735 about 3 years ago

FYI, you deleted a park in this changeset (this one: way/1084121988/history) that actually exists on the map. A bank was torn down there recently and a park put in its place. The satellite imagery you're using probably hasn't been updated yet to show that. That's something to watch out for in the future.

Hi! Thanks for working on the map. I just wanted to call out that some of the features you mapped in this changeset could be better tagged. You created a bunch of "golf courses" that are really individual holes on a mini-golf course.

There's already an area for the mini golf course. I'd suggest re-tagging the individual holes, perhaps as a Putting Green.

Whoops, that was my mistake. I was cleaning that up but I also split the way and propagated it to the new ways. I'll take care of it.

Just to muddy the waters, Climax Township has a map calling it "LaFevers Lake." https://399da70a-bd9d-4c4a-8bc4-efff71abaeb7.filesusr.com/ugd/c714ae_53df38dc6e704b179f16d8a2943bd510.pdf?index=true

There doesn't seem to be a good, authoritative source for this. I'll add an alt_name, but now I'm hesitant to change the name without a better source.

70168693 almost 4 years ago

Should "Le Ferre Lake" really be named "LeFevre Lake"? That's the name on the USGS topo layer, and the Internet doesn't seem to know anything about a "Le Ferre" Lake in Kalamazoo County.

Hey, not sure if you're still working on this area, but it looks like one of the ways you created didn't get any tags: way/972696828/history

Hey, what's up with the two golf cart paths you created running along I-75? That doesn't seem accurate to me.
