This is awesome, thanks for mapping all these plaques in so much detail!

Here’s where I’ve made these changes:

Hi there! Thanks for your contributions. It’s a bit unclear to me what these tourist attractions in Manly represent though - were they perhaps added by accident?

It looks like one of them might represent a cafe - I’ll update it with the “amenity=cafe” tag to make this clearer.

The others seem like they might be accidentally-added duplicates? I’ll remove them for now, but please feel free to re-add them if I’ve misunderstood :)

Hi there! Just letting you know I’ve switched the area around Mosley Square & Jetty Road from commercial to retail landuse.

My impression of the area is that it’s largely occupied by shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, etc? If so, the Wiki seems to suggest retail is the better fit.

Perhaps I’ve misunderstood something though - let me know if so! 🙂

Thanks! Perhaps I was a bit hasty in removing it - I only looked from the river side, but it could well be in better condition up nearer the street.

Update: I visited it from the Byles Creek Track side, and could see no sign of the short connecting path. I suspect it has fallen into disuse and been reclaimed by nature.

I’ve gone ahead and removed it in the following changeset:
changeset/145903132

Feel free to re-add it if you think I’ve missed something (perhaps it still exists but is heavily overgrown?).

I did also find a nearby path that connects Marlon Road to the river track, which I’ve added here:

Hi there! Just wanted to check if the short connecting path from Cheltenham Road to the Byles Creek Track is publicly accessible?

Asking because I can’t see any obvious sign of it on street-view imagery, and I wouldn’t want to trespass :)

(If it is private, we could add access=private to indicate this).

Hi Chris, my understanding is that such mechanisms already exist. For example, tagging a trail with “access=no” will cause AllTrails to display it in red with a “NO ACCESS” warning. There are also lifecycle prefixes such as “abandoned”, which I believe will stop most applications from rendering the trails entirely.

I’d suggest having an another read through the Wiki pages linked above, which explain these techniques :)

Hello, thanks for spotting that! I’ve just fixed it in:
changeset/144617378

(Went with grass, as I wasn’t sure there were enough trees to justify a wood area 🙂)

…at least, no signage in the immediate vicinity of the trail. Maybe there’s signage elsewhere in the park that says not to use it? 🤔

Hello! 🙂 Just wondering why this trail was set to “no access”? It looks perfectly usable for foot traffic to me, and there’s no signage on the ground discouraging its use.

Opened an issue here:
https://github.com/organicmaps/organicmaps/issues/6260

Feel free to add additional context there if I've missed anything 👍

Interesting, seems to be a problem with Organic Maps (the app I used for these edits).

I just performed a test by adding a website to a cafe, and sure enough Organic Maps added a postcode in the same changeset:
node/11121077143

I’ll raise a bug for it on their GitHub project - agreed this behaviour doesn’t make much sense.

Yep looks like you got them all, thanks!

137474839 about 2 years ago

Oops, thanks for spotting this. Not done intentionally - I must’ve duplicated an existing tree without noticing it had an address tag.

I’ll have a look over them and clean it up later today or tomorrow 👍

Agreed, thanks for the review. I've attempted to fix it here:

Thanks! :)

Good point, thanks for the feedback. I suppose the “school” part is implied by being within school grounds, and hopefully renderers will localise “cafeteria” to “canteen” in Australia.

I’ll remove the names 👍

Hi Fizzie41, thanks for having a look. Those locations may indeed be a bit off. I didn't have satellite imagery to cross-check with at the time (was using OrganicMaps), and my GPS was probably less accurate than I realised.

I've since switched to a better editor (GoMap), so it hopefully won't happen again. I'll fix up these locations 👍

Noted, I'll leave comments going forward 🙂
