over 3 years ago | My bad. Thanks for letting me know. Organic maps doesn't seem to have a way to close notes and I forgot to close it in iD.
almost 4 years ago | I forgot to add sources. I used Bing Streetside and aerial imagery as my sources.
almost 4 years ago | Thanks for letting me know. The changeset looks good otherwise.
almost 4 years ago | Thanks for letting me know. The changeset looks good otherwise.
almost 4 years ago | Like I said in my other comments on your recent changesets, it's not a big issue. If you forget to tag with a source in the future, you can always leave a comment to let others know your source. Thanks.
almost 4 years ago | Thanks for getting back. We all make mistakes and what you did was only a minor issue, so there's no reason to worry if this happens again. (if it's a mistake) For future reference, you can tag your changeset with 'source=survey' if you looked at the area in person or 'source=local knowledge' if you did not visit the location, but you are aware that the road was finished. You would also tag it with 'source=aerial imagery'. I can revert my deletion of your road extension if you want so that it's back to where you had it. Let me know. Thanks.
almost 4 years ago | Thanks for getting back to me. The changeset looks good otherwise. Hope to see you continue helping improve our local area.
almost 4 years ago | Also, to clarify I should mention that the road is visible on the imagery but it looks like a planned road, not a paved one. Older and newer imagery shows that this part of the road has been an unmaintained dirt road for a long time, indicating that no construction has occurred. Otherwise, I would have tagged the road extension as under construction.
almost 4 years ago | For future reference, the changeset removing the road extension is 119448765.
almost 4 years ago | Hi again. I am removing the extension to Brackett Lane you added since you haven't replied letting me know the source you used. Feel free to re-add the extension in the future, but only if you add a source to your changeset. Thanks.
almost 4 years ago | I appreciate you getting back to me. When I first started editing, I did it a few times, but I realized that's not very good since you'll lose that history. I am not a stickler, so I won't suggest that you revert anything since your edits have improved things more than they have hurt. Thanks.
almost 4 years ago | Thanks for responding. If I am misunderstanding good changeset etiquette in terms of size, apologies and thanks for letting me know. If you're doing a wide sweeping edit, I'd add a comment so that you don't have people coming in and asking a bunch of questions.
almost 4 years ago | Another one of your changesets 119205225 seems to have a bunch of these 'deletes and adds'. https://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-change-viz?c=119205225#18/42.98059/-71.46114
almost 4 years ago | Actually, the previous version of the Citizen's bank (the deleted building) was modified by me yesterday to fix an Osmose issue, (highway colliding with building) so I know the building was deleted. Looks like the road is colliding with the building now, which is what I fixed yesterday.
almost 4 years ago | Hi. I noticed that for some of the buildings you changed, (Pizza Hut, Loan Max, Citizens Bank) you are deleting and re-adding them. Is there a reason you are doing that instead of modifying the existing one? We lose history if we delete the buildings. I discovered this using the change visualizer here: https://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-change-viz?c=119385984#17/42.96518/-71.44717 If I am mistaken and am not using that tool properly, let me know.
almost 4 years ago | Can you please explain why you are making such a large change and what exactly was changed? You should split up larger changesets into smaller ones. In addition, please add a helpful comment to your changesets going forward.
almost 4 years ago | If you look into the changeset history of this user, they rarely ever add comments to their changesets. Combined with the fact that some of the changesets are quite large, I think there is an issue here that needs to be addressed.
almost 4 years ago | Hi there, I am a mapper in the local area and I noticed you requested a review. Which road was extended? You should describe which road was extended in your changeset comment. osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments The latest imagery shows that the portion of Brackett Lane that you added is still a dirt road. Have you confirmed in person that this road has indeed been finished and paved? If not, you should tag the road as highway=construction. It also looks like the point that should connect Doveton Lane and Brackett Lane is not connected. I am not sure if it is you who has caused this, but if it was, make sure that when you edit roads that all points that should be connected are connected. In the iD editor, when a point is given a dark gray color instead of white, that means it is connected. iD will also show warnings in the left panel before you upload your changes. I will go ahead and fix the connection issue for you so you do not have to worry about that. You have drawn the extension to Brackett Lane as a separate line. You should instead modify the existing line for Brackett Lane.
| 119281391 | almost 4 years ago | Hi there, I am a mapper in the local area and I noticed you requested a review. It looks like you have removed these items because the latest imagery shows a new housing development where these items used to be. This is only a guess though. "stuff doesn't exist anymore" is not a very descriptive changeset comment. You should describe why you removed these items so that it is easier for others to understand why you made these changes. For instance, maybe you could write "The latest aerial imagery indicates that these buildings and areas have been removed to make way for a new housing development." You should also add a source tag to your changeset. If you did use aerial imagery, you would have 'source=aerial imagery'. Here are some useful links you may find useful:

almost 4 years ago | Hi there, I am a mapper in the local area and I noticed you requested a review. Can you please explain what your source was for this change? This can be something such as local knowledge or a survey. In the future, you should add the 'source' tag to your changeset. Please see this webpage for more info: source=* For example, if the road name was the result of a survey, you would have source=survey. In addition, you may want to add some more details to your comment. For instance, you could write: "Construction has finished on 'Orchard Park Lane'. I added the missing name to this road".
