Ich verwende Mapsme und habe immer das Problem, dass ich anscheinend nicht alle Punke auf meiner Karte sehe. In dem Moment wo ich es eintrage ist dieser Ort für mich noch nicht auf der Karte verzeichnet.
In der Vergangenheit habe ich selten die Updates ausgeführt, dann ist das verständlich. Nun hatte ich aber vor ca. 2 - 3 Wochen aktualisiert. Ist die Uhrenwerkstatt von jemand anderem innerhalb dieser Zeit hinzugefügt worden; ich nehme mal an nicht.
Ich spekuliere immer noch, dass mir Mapsme nicht alles zeigt.
In manchen Fällen, wenn Punkte nebeneinander liegen und lange Namen verwendet werden ist dies jedenfalls der Fall. Man sieht die Punkte aber in dem Moment, wenn man einen neuen Punkt hinzufügt. Bei dem Uhrengeschäft war das aber auch nicht der Fall.
Kennst du dich hier aus?

Hello bundle, yes, in the past I had created lot of double objects. It took years for me to understand / that someone told me that updates have to be made and that mapsme and openstreetmap is something different. I do not update every month, but from time to time.
Yes, in Berlin there are rarely new objects. Nochmall was opened yesterday! So it could not be such long updated. Specially abroad there are lot of missing objects.

Yes, of course, you are right. "Shop&Go" is a brand name that is not translated to any other language, even not to Serbian.
Unfortunately I could not enclose a Screenshot here, where I could show you the mask that I have to fill out. When I have to enter a name of the shop the "name field" is not just one. I have to decide to either enter the name into the top Serbian , the second English or the last German name field. There is no general name field. I will now use more the Serbian name field, because Serbian do speak good English so that at least also English names become Serbian brand names.
But let me know if you should do different.

The part "I just wanted you not to put only name:en for example on a store named Shop&Go, because we also call it Shop&Go." is still not so clear. I think this is coming from the fact that you work with details I do not see e. G. "name:en"??

What I do when I put a new place on the map is always same: mark the location, search for the right category and than if I have a name to write it and finally safe it. In case of this example of a "Shop&Go" that is not shown on the map I add it with positioning, looking for the "Supermarkt" category, than I write in the field for English language "Shop&Go" and safe it.

By writing it I think that "name:en" is this English name field. Should I use the first serbian field instead because you use this English name also?

I have one more item that can be a reason for misunderstandings. This is only about 6 month I become aware of it. Before some of your colleagues mentioned that I should not create dublicates. Than I once used OpenStreetMap and Wow there were so many places shown. You must know I use Mapsme and I Don t know why but it has much less shops. So I probably add shops that are already on OpenStreetMap. It would be so much better for me if I had them all, because just tagging them is easier than to add.

Today I made a mistake again. But I have no way to erase the mistake. Today I added a second place on same position just to say it is wrong...

Sorry for me misunderstanding. But because I often use while traveling, so it would be helpful to know how things could be improved.

Hello Aleksa, I do not understand what you mean with your message. I am not this specialist ;-)

you will see that I often put names on the places. But it is not everywhere possible: either it is written in Cyrillic (that I can not write) or it even do not has a name. So e. G. many small hairdressers or supermarkets do not have a name but just write "hairdresser" or "market" in the local language.

I also have one matter. I did 2 or 3 mistakes by putting the tag on the wrong side of the road. There was a time when I could myself erase the mistakes I made, but not now! Do you know if/how I could do?

Hello Karonage, it is a few weeks/month ago that I first understood the problem you are facing.
You must know, that I use mapsme software ( in offline mode) when I mark this places. And of course I only create new places when they are not shown!!! It is much easier and prefered if there is an existing place that I just can mark.
Why is this problem comming up:
when I recently opened to the openstreetmap map I saw that there were lot of shopes shown. It was more than I was experiened so I did compare it with the mapsme map. And maps me showed only a few places. That was the moment I understood what you mean with placing spots double. But for me it never was double, because I only see the mapsme very limited version. Why is this so? Than of course I never can do it right.

Hello, I always hear about the dublicates without that I really understand that. Now I opened the openstreetmap-map and compared it with the mapsme-map and it shows it is not same.
I have mapsme on my mobile phone and if on this map there is not show a shop I see I add it. But as I have to learn now, on openstreetmap you have more data than on maps me. That let me now understand your situation.

And of course, so more data I add so more mistakes could be made too. Some mistakes I even become aware of, but mapsme does not allow me to change the mark that I myself added. There was a time where this was possible.

Bakeries are not that concentrated as motor bike shops but it could be that you will sometimes will find 5 or so in a small street too. The shops can be very narrow, yust selling not for consuming.
That looks that they are all different family run business.

There are so many motorbikes in Vietnam and Cambodia. I often have seen e. g. in Phnom Penh that there are streets where you have motor bike shop beside motorbike shop. I even do not mark them all. There are many smaller shops too and they are different shop. But I have also used motorbike shop if it was either a "motor bike sell shop" or a "motorbike repair shop".

I also make this (private?) marks 1. Marking the building (or for 2 seconds on free place) 2.than from the bottom there is a field popping up where I can mark it. This is what I definitely prefer to use, it is quick and easy. Only I have to say that here in Asia that is unfortunately not so often that there is a place. Either there is nothing or it has already changed e. G. The house is no more there.
I always mark positions in the way you described if it is not fitting the categories. E. G. a "rice mill" or a "special tree".
But this way of marks have at least two disadvantages: 1. It is more time consuming, because it is not only marking you have to overwrite "unknown place". I do not know why, but you first have to erase unknown place than you can write. 2. It happens that by mistakes or by a case I can not explain here, you unmark the location. Than you loose all information. Therefore I make marks in this way only about 20%

I understand that it is best to mention a name, but here there are lot of unnamed places too and others are written in local language. Beside that for me it would be to time consuming to write names everywhere. I do if it is a bigger better shop where name is clear.

Hello, you seem to have problems with my data.
My situation is this. Since I bought my mobile in summer last year I marked for me all areas I visited. When there was nothing to mark I added something that I could mark. To give more information to the place e. G. A bankname would take too much time and energy if I do this with this marks. And for me it is mostly efficient enough to know there is a bank (where I can change money). At least it is more information to know that there is a bank as there is nothing. But that is of course my thinking and I do not know much about osm.
Usually I like to use Mapsme while I am traveling because I do not have wifi outside. In China I bought a Sim card and have internet access everywhere. But this has the drawback that always when I add a new place a window is popping up and ask me to register. After many times adding places and had to click the register window in same amount away I once registered. Since this time it is good, no window appears than.
That was than the time you seem to got all the places I marked more than one year ago. I don't know why you think that I make a joke or something like this to you. It is lot of work and I do it seriously. But I do it for me. And if there is something you want to use it is up to you.

I was logged out I do not know for how many days. And you still got my marks?

I have often problems to open pages, or here to Log-in. When I do not need to Log-in I can easier answer, at least I could do so about one week ago.

Finally, please let me know how can I stop exporting. Where can I change that? I will check out here after sending the message. It would be great to have an email that I could reply to.
