about 3 years ago | Okay. I've changed it back to Topsham Rd, but with Exeter Rd as its alternative name, which is clearly in use by the two main properties either side of it. Again, I feel the local authority have just used the next road junction available as a convenient end for Topsham Rd.
about 3 years ago | Hi. Both the football club and the Aldi store use Exeter Road (only) for their addresses. I can't find the Aldi one on the Royal Mail address search, but the FC is on there and is Exeter Road. As you say, Ordnance Survey have Exeter Rd on their mapping at this location, and it is clear from a historic perspective why this is so - this side of the M5, until the stream near the garden centre, was within Topsham, and so the road was Exeter Road. I can't help but feel that the data you've used has just used the junction at The Retreat for practicality. But in any case, it is not wrong to call this stretch of road Exeter Road, and perhaps an alt_name tag for Topsham Road would be fine?
over 7 years ago | Not being funny, but just because there's been a mistake for 8 years doesn't make it right... as for the locals - ask the Parish Council or the Tourist Information Centre at Wickham... they're quite clear that the place is a village.
over 7 years ago | Sorry, but factually the place is not a town. In England there are legal definitions for a town and a city, though not for a village - refer to Wikipedia if you must. We would be subjectively labelling places on OSM if we follow the route of "where there are shops it is a town"... what about places with retail parks?
over 7 years ago | Thanks... population is 8193 according to the 2011 census... the huge population previously stated made the town visible while zoomed quite far out on the standard map, hence why I noticed it!
over 7 years ago | Sorry - have tried reverting but can't seem to be able too, even with Potlatch1 (I use browser-based editors). Would you be able to do this quickly? Sorry again for the trouble caused..!

almost 9 years ago | Hi - it's too small in one sense of the term "city" however this is a British territory the same 'city status' law applies as in the UK. James Town is a City officially. I made the change mainly to ensure that it appears on the map with primacy over neighbouring Half Tree Hollow, as James Town is after all the capital of the island/territory.
about 10 years ago | Apologies - can you do the reverting please? After reverting however, the two-way road between Prior Park Road and the A36 should be a primary road, not tertiary. Thanks.
