Osmarender in Shanghai

Posted by Xylem on 3 September 2009 in English.

I did some work in the Shanghai area, however there's a problem (maybe it's just me) with Osmarender. When you use Osmarender to view the city of Shanghai, China, there are many tiles over land where the background is completely blue (indicating water) when it is actually land. This problem doesnt appear in Mapnik, only Osmarender. Several fairly large square areas are completely with a blue background, even on areas of land.

I tried viewing the area with several browsers, all show the same problem.

You can request a render for the Osmarender tiles by going here:
http://informationfreeway.org/
Then zoom into the area you wish to render until you reach Zoom 12
Place your mouse in the square you wish to render, then press "r".

Then in an hour or so you'll see that openstreetmap's osmarender will be updated to reflect what's currently there.
