Do you mean there's a bridge? At the moment the path is mapped along what is almost the longest part of the water here.

127442836 about 3 years ago

The footpath you added here a couple of years ago now runs right through the water you modified in this changeset. Does the footpath no longer exist?

Hi Casey Painter,

I'm not sure what you were trying to add here, but you created a massive park over multiple houses, roads and other features.

I have removed this addition.

Hi nolanzek!

Welcome to OSM.

We have different tags that we can use when we map parks and playgrounds as there are slight differences in what those two features are and how they are used.

You can read more on the OSM wiki, here:

leisure=park?uselang=en

leisure=playground

I'll try to do what I can in the next day or two. I'm sure we can work it out together 😅

Hey folks,

Just wanted to check in on this one. I'm also not sure that the current configuration is the best way to handle this intersection.

Do either of you mind if I have a go at adjusting the turn restrictions and removing the erroneous extra roads that are intersecting each other?

I've also created a note here as the reserve appears to be mapped twice - both areas are over a decade old but the boundaries are very different.

Hi!
Is there a reason you changed Brooker Creek Preserve to a park in this changeset? The original nature reserve tagging seems more appropriate.

Hi Exokam,

Welcome to OSM! Thanks so much for joining and signing up to contribute.

There's already an area for Windy Hill Open Space Preserve on the map here:
relation/193017

And the peak for Windy Hill is also already on the map here: node/4407402851

Is the peak in the wrong position? For now, I have removed the duplicate feature you added.

Please do not add fictional names to features on the map.

126913386 about 3 years ago

Also, please don't miss this previous comment regarding your changeset comments: changeset/126802942

It's important to actually describe what you have done so other mappers understand your intentions here.

Hello,

Are you sure you have this park in the right place?
way/1099955713

It looks like it's almost entirely covered by the road "Aviation Way".

If you'd like another spanner in the works, I think there used to be a sign here that said "Cliff Oval Reserve".
Not sure if it's still there, I haven't stopped by Wahroonga since 2020.

Thanks so much for the quick reply! That makes a lot of sense.

I was wondering if you know anything about this other Baker College mapped around the corner as well? way/1087615767 it's currently mapped as a school.

125130661 over 3 years ago

Hello!

You have Baker College tagged as a school here rather than a university (it's a not for profit uni) but are you sure this campus still exists under the Baker name? I've found a few news articles saying that this campus was going to close around 2020.

Hi crescentmoons,

I think you might have this building rotated at 180 degrees compared to where it should actually be. If you swap over to Maxar Imagery in the editor, you can see a slab for one building and another new building. both the slab and the building are longer North-to-South compared to East-to-West.

Hi!
I've swapped the tagging on this feature from amenity=school to amenity=university.

Hi KHanshaw!

Welcome to OSM, thanks so much for your additions! They look really neat and I like how to added the shape to the baseball field.

This is just some quick feedback:

The tag leisure=park has a certain meaning on OSM and should typically only be used for parks. Other features can be tagged as buildings, pitches or other things as relevant.

Also, the name key should also only be used for actual names rather than descriptions, locations or ownership information.

You will probably find the OSM wiki really helpful when it comes to looking up tagging and best practice: osm.wiki/Main_Page

Hi!

Thanks for the quick response!

It looks like the area also has the address (unless I'm missing a typo) so I'm not sure why it wouldn't show up when searching (though there are a LOT of different Blossom Hill Roads)

The entrance should be implied by the roads going in to the park. If there's special features though, you may be able to tag them differently.

Generally OSM works on the concept of "one feature, one osm element" - osm.wiki/One_feature,_one_OSM_element

I have removed the park node now, but please feel free to reach out if you need any help :)

Hi there!

It looks like this park is already on the map as an area: way/31975037

Were you trying to add something in particular?
