Hi again!
Is this beach actually called "cape hawke 2"? Or is that some kind of reference number?

107177104 over 4 years ago

Hi Edward,

Thanks for your recent contributions to OSM.

Just a bit of feedback - we generally use Title Case for place names.

I also have a question - is this beach James Corner or Janies Corner? I've heard of the latter before, but not the former.

Hiya dolores-sanchez!

Welcome to OSM!

Thanks for your addition to the map. I have updated this park from a node to an area, I also removed the duplicate node for the park that you put on the intersection of Cedar Street and Main Street - please keep in mind that OSM generally works on the idea of "one feature, one OSM element", so you normally shouldn't add features twice

Happy mapping!

Hi!

Is the college currently here, or is it just planned? Might be good to add a lifecycle prefix if it's not there yet.

osm.wiki/Lifecycle_prefix

for now, I've changed this from a school to a college as it's not a k-12 equivalent institution.

Hi ShortCut815,

You've mapped a lot of these course features as parks (greens and bunkers for example).

This page...

leisure=golf_course

...lists the correct way to tag these features.

Hi,
You appear to have created an area here that is marked as both water and forest... I'm not too sure if either is correct?

Hi,

You changed this building into water way/665725733/

Possibly an error?

Fictional mapping/graffiti created in this changeset (a head wearing a hat composed of various forms of landuse) was removed in #106363650

Hi,

You added this house as a very narrow triangle: way/949449576#map=19/44.28840/-84.65861

I can't find where the building is supposed to be, are you able to clarify?

Cheers!

Hi samtheman100,

Welcome to OSM!

We define parks in a particular way, and that definition does not include private yards or gardens.

You can read more about mapping parks here: leisure=park

Hi Mallory M,

OSM is a public map. Please avoid adding personal information such as "MY HOUSE"

Hi Loverbot9k,

Welcome to OSM!

We define parks in a particular way here on OpenStreetMap: leisure=park I'm not sure if the locations you added here would match the wiki's definition.

Hi HappyLappy93,

Welcome to OSM!

In this changeset, you added a park over a house.

On OSM, we define parks in a particular way, you can read more here: leisure=park

If you were trying to add something in particular, but you're not quite sure how to do it, please feel free to reach out.

I have removed the park in question.

Hello Irma,

No problem at all!

Maxar imagery is currently newer, but the resolution and alignment in this area is much lower quality than DCS NSW. You might find that you need to swap between the two sources. Just one of those things, haha :-)

Happy mapping!

Hi YesJayden,

In the past hour, I've managed to find and add several unmapped parks in your local area just using satellite imagery.

This fictional park and path that you've re-added will be removed. I would suggest that you spend your time actively improving your local area with real mapped features that won't be deleted.

If you need help, please feel free to reach out.

Hi Irma,

Thanks so much for your contribution to the Central Coast area.

I have a couple of questions if that's okay.

1) I noticed you deleted the pier in this changeset - was that intentional? The source listed on the changeset is Maxar, but the pier is present in that imagery.

2) You slightly moved the building near the pier. At the moment we find that DCS NSW imagery has a superior offset compared to Maxar. The building was aligned correctly with DCS imagery, so I would suggest that the original location was more correct.

Thanks again!

Hi YesJayden

The park and footpath you added covered a house and its yard.

This is a public map that is used for many real word purposes. Please do not add fictional elements to it, they will be removed.
