about 6 years ago | Hi Thomas, The some of the available OSM friendly imagery here is quite recent and doesn't show any footpaths at this location. I normally wouldn't question things like this, but considering you've added quite a few fictional features to the map recently, do you have any evidence that these exist?
about 6 years ago | @phidauex - if you mean leisure=nature_reserve+landuse=recreation_ground for these kinds of locations, then yes, I'd agree that the tagging is probably more appropriate than leisure=park. With that being said, some other mappers might not like it because of the "conflict" between leisure and landuse, and also because the wiki defines recreation grounds as "an **open** green space for general recreation." If this was my mapping backyard (which it's not, and imo it's always better to go with local agreed conventions in these kinds of cases), I'd probably opt for leisure=nature_reserve+access=yes/permissive at minimum (plus any fees, opening hours, operator info, so on and so forth), leaving any park or recreation ground tagging for controlled open green spaces (some of which might exist within a nature reserve in certain circumstances).
about 6 years ago | Hi MrKitten, Welcome to OSM and thanks for your recent additions! I'm not sure about changing these two nature preserves to parks. Many nature reserves are open to the public for recreation, but it doesn't make them parks in the OSM sense of the word (or tag). Reading about the two locations, their natural significance seems to be greater than that which you'd expect from a park. Additionally, the greenery does not appear to be heavily controlled in these locations - an important distinction when it comes to parks on OSM: leisure=park?uselang=en

about 6 years ago | OSM is used by many individuals and organisations for different purposes. Please only make real, valid and verifiable changes to the map.

about 6 years ago | Happy 1000th edit!
about 6 years ago | Hi Jobsh85! Welcome to OSM and thanks so much for your recent additions :) Just some feedback on the Tennis Court you added here - great addition to the map, but when you tag tennis courts, you should map them as pitches rather than parks. The iD editor will actually let you select "Tennis Court" as an option, which will fill out the sport details for you as well as marking it as a pitch. The name tag should also be reserved for actual names rather than descriptions. I had a go at correcting this, but I'm not a local, so please feel free to check my work. Thanks again, and happy mapping!
about 6 years ago | Is it an office building or a park... those two things are quite different and I can't see how both could exist at the same time in such a small space.
about 6 years ago | Please do not add fictional features to OSM. This is a real-world map that people use for many purposes. Your house is not a park.
about 6 years ago | Are you sure that's a park? Maxar World Imagery seems to be the newest here and it shows what looks like some fairly new buildings at this location.
about 6 years ago | How's*
about 6 years ago | How that test going?
about 6 years ago | Hi and welcome to OSM! Thanks for your recent additions! Some feedback on this edit: You've used the name= key to tag descriptions (a park named "viewing area" or a road named "access road" as examples). This is generally not the best way to add information to objects on the map. As an example, rather than tagging the viewing area as a park named "viewing area", it's better to tag it as a viewpoint (tourism=viewpoint) and then save the name tag for any name it might actually have, such as "Louis Blériot Memorial Viewing Platform" or even just leave the name field blank. Anyway, Thanks again for contributing to OSM :) happy mapping!
about 6 years ago | Also, while we're tinkering here, we might as well flesh this out a little - is the campground seasonal? Does it have a website? Email? Contact phone number? Is there a fee?
about 6 years ago | No problem, thanks for getting back to me - are you able to confirm if it's a camp ground or a park? OSM defines them quite differently, I'm leaning more towards it being a campground looking at the imagery and judging by what I read about the location? I removed both thinking you wouldn't come back to me on this, but I can undelete the campground for you if that works?
about 6 years ago | Hi Gshep and welcome to OSM. I've searched far and wide for any reference to this park existing and I just can't find anything on it... even the name you had originally "Barryville Wilderness Park" turns up nothing. Are you able to point me in the direction of more information?
about 6 years ago | Hi Matthew and welcome to OSM! Typically we tag sports fields as pitches on OSM (leisure=pitch) rather than parks (leisure=park). If the sports field is in a larger park or recreation ground, you can add that separately as well :). Let me know if you need any help, happy mapping :)
about 6 years ago | Looks like something went really wrong with this edit. 11 nodes all sharing the exact same coordinates connected as a way?
about 6 years ago | Hi Salsbar, Thank you for your recent contributions to OSM. I have two hints that might help you with your mapping moving forward: 1) When you add footpaths and sidewalks, make sure you connect where their ends meet with the roads as appropriate so that they can be used for routing. 2) You removed the residential landuse over these apartments. Make sure you're careful not to remove valid features from the map (the tagging could be refined, but I'm sure that it is residential judging by the other features you added here). Happy mapping!
