Hi,

Why have you added a recreation ground over the roads here? Did you intend to tag it as something else?

Welcome to OSM.
Please don't add parks where there aren't any. Fictitious edits will quickly be removed from the map.

Hi there,

Welcome to OSM and thank you for your recent contributions :).

In your future edis, please do not add private information such as "Garretts House" or "My House" to the map. OSM is a public map that anyone can see. Additionally, the name tag should be reserved for the actual names of things rather than descriptions.

I've fixed these up for you. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Me again, sorry :)

I've noticed you've taken an interest in mapping houses and other buildings, which is awesome.

We try to keep the name= tag for actual names of things rather than descriptions - you can tag most descriptive details in other ways - building=* - this page is a great place to start as a reference point.

Your changeset comment doesn't match what you've added here - did you mean to add a pond or a park?

Hi and welcome to OSM.

Thank you for your recent additions to the map.

Did you mean to map this house as a circle?

Hi and welcome to OSM,

What is the park and parking South of Lamberth Road supposed to be here? Do you have any details about the location?

It looks like it's a residential home?

70283788 over 6 years ago

I wasn't referring to the water.

Hi there, this does appear to be a park, but I don't think the name Cliff Street Gym is correct.Remember that OSM is a map used for many reasons, it isn't just a map editor for Pokemon Go.

Are you able to source the right name for the park and tidy the area up a bit?

It seems that you removed the building tags from these apartments and replaced it with landuse instead while you were making these changes. You probably want to fix that.

Hi,

The way you've used the tag leisure=outdoor_seating here is probably incorrect - check the OSM wiki page for the tag:
leisure=outdoor%20seating?uselang=en-US

Most importantly the description: "A seating area, usually for the consumption of food and drink from neighbouring cafes and restaurants, often belonging to one or more of them, but not necessarily adjacent"

If this is a private home, the tagging doesn't really apply under that definition.

Similarly, with the tiny playground, fishing and other features, I've sent you this page before, but I really suggest you give it another read:

osm.wiki/Limitations_on_mapping_private_information

"Limit the detail of mapping private backyards. As a guideline, permanently installed private swimming pools, or some structure of a semi-public garden appear to be the borderline of being acceptable. Add access=private as appropriate."

I love detailed mapping, but it really seems like you're really crossing the boundary of what is verifiable, map-able and useful information and what is personal, unverifiable/impermanent and very subjective.

Hi and welcome to OSM:
It appears that you have accidentally added a park in the middle of a parking lot - node/6473677938 would you like to try and fix it?

This changeset was reverted in changeset/70216818 where the comment is:
"Reverting Pokemon Go inspired vandalism - park scribbles drawn over houses in changesets 70215159 and 70215087"

Please don't add fake information to OSM. Vandalism will be removed from the map quickly.

Wetlands do not spawn Pokemon, in fact, alongside schools, military areas and a few other tags, wetlands actually have the effect of *blocking* spawns.

If that the intention here is to improve the map for Pokemon Go, this is not the way to go about it because:

1) it's inaccurate by OSM standards, as has been rehashed over and over.

2) It would remove any existing spawns in Pokemon Go.

"Reverting changeset/70173615 in which the admin boundaries for Ungarie were deleted, a duplicate node for Mount Annan Botanic Gardens was created, and a park node named for the deleted boundary was created on private property."

If you were attempting to make a valid change but aren't sure how to go about it, please let us know, many local mappers would be happy to help :).

Hi yellowboi and welcome to OSM :)

Are you able to clarify what Blandin is? Looking at the available satellite imagery, I'm not sure if it would be a park by OSM definitions:
leisure=park

70091533 over 6 years ago

Hi and welcome to OSM!

Have you checked out the OSM wiki yet? I noticed you added a playground in this changeset, but you added it as a park - the correct way to add a playground is described here:
leisure=playground

The OSM wiki is a great resource - I suggest always consulting it when mapping new features :)

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Hi!

The correct way to mark sports pitches is to map them as leisure=pitch leisure=pitch
You can also add what sport is played there as a tag (sport=soccer for example) as well as the surface and a few other features using other kinds of tagging.

Name= should be reserved for actual names, not descriptions. So if the basketball court was called "Gabriel0322 memorial court" you could use the name tag for that, but if it is *just* a basketball tag, you should avoid using the name tag in place of other tagging schemes (the wiki page I linked is a big help there)

Same story with the playground: leisure=playground

No problem. I'll check back later and make any required changes if you can't get to them :)
