Thank you. I will go and double check. I cycle that route regularly and use the crossing there. The map does not show all the traffic lights and pedestrian/cycle crossings. I'll see if the NCN1 signs are obvious enough there.

I have been trying to deal with the spur that I inadvertently created where Mugiemoss connects with Oldmeldrum, but I am having difficulty figuring out how to remove the relation without deleting a much bigger relation. It is more complicated than I thought. The Route 18 bus route is also a challenge. I suspect that the route has changed, given the new road layout, but it needs more investigation.

Thank you! This is quite interesting and I will definitely investigate.

I've gone to have a look and there is no NCN1 signeage on the Mill Drive section. So I'll try to seperate that cycle track and unlink it from NCN1.

Question: - I see there is another spur in Aberdeen. All that it needs to complete the loop is for a cycle path to be drawn in at the Mounthooly round-about where there is a traffic-light and pedestrian crossing. That will close the spur, but it will mean that there are two possible routes to follow. Does this pose any challenges for the map and for any routing applications? Is the goal to eliminate such loops? Or is it fine to have two options?

Hi again, Sorry - I think I may actually be mistaken. I've just scrolled through the Mapillary footage that I have for Mill Drive and there is a sign for NCN 1 that points down Bankhead Road towards Mugiemoss Road. There is no further sign down the Mill Drive. So i think that NCN 1 follows the route that it always followed. I will look out for evidence to the contrary and let you know if I find any.

Hi Andy,

I've been looking out for the Route 1 markers and there are markers down Mill Drive but there are also markers that point down Mugiemoss Road.

Mugiemoss Road used to be the main route before the layout changes, but it does not have cycle lanes or segregated infrastructure. But the new road-layout also means there is through traffic in only one direction while Mill Drive has seperated cycle/walkway but the road is busier.

I was wondering what the implications are for the NCN1 map. Both routes are signposted and there is not much difference between them.

What I'll do is to go cycle that area again and see if I can photograph or identify the signposts.
