Filed a new bug today, http://trac.openstreetmap.org/ticket/2244
I'm quite interested in mapping content that is not a road, be it an MTB track, a hiking or jogging trail. The main utility for this would be for the apps in the iPhone or several phones that uses opencyclemap as the terrain map.
Unfortunately, it seems that if I name a trail/track, the name would appear in opencyclemap, but the trail will not.
Totally defeats the purpose of my initial intent.

Just use highway=footway rather than highway=path

Got it, and changed accordingly. Still, shouldn't a path mean a pathway? Also just read the highway=path arguments and all I can say is, "not my fight"
