My work has gone down the tubes!!

Posted by Vic Jacinto on 8 August 2010 in English.

I have been working on mapping my city of Bucaramanga for about 2 + years using actual traces. Today i went to do another neighborhood and noticed a lot of streets and roads have been added by a a guy called "Gallor". My streets have been moved off my track lines and most of his work has no labels. I cant tell where he is getting his data. I don't think it is tracks. Can someone help figure what this guy is up to. The work i have done is /was very accurate and the maps work perfectly on my Garmin. HELP!

Choppy roads on Garmin maps

Posted by Vic Jacinto on 31 January 2010 in English.

Hey all.

I have been using
http://garmin.na1400.info/routable.php
to download my maps for my Garmin 750
They look great , but one problem
I make very nice round curves, bends and roundabouts in the road .
Then when I download the maps the curves, bends and roundabouts are all choppy and crooked on the gramin map. I have also noted that some of the changes I have made weeks ago on OSM (and can be seen on OSM now) do not show up on the download while other more recent change do appear.
What's up with that??
Anyway my observation

This Site is really sucking

Posted by Vic Jacinto on 8 January 2010 in English.

for the last couple of days i have been mapping and have been saving every couple of seconds to make sure that my work is being saved.....and i have found that when i go out and come back in the work was not saved at all.....dam i just spent 2 1/2 hours mapping and guess what none of the work was saved...what a waste of an eveing...so my question is it me or is it really the site???

THIN lines on GARMIN???

Posted by Vic Jacinto on 2 January 2010 in English.

Hi all.
I have been downloading maps from cloudmade for my Garmin. they work pretty good but I have a problem well a problem for me. The roads on the Garmin form cloudmade show up as a thin black line which is ok but I would like to see the lines line the normal commercial maps that can be bought for north America for example with also possible different colors for different types of roads. Is there any way to make the road line be thicker or am I doing something wrong.
Thanks Vic

Having fun

Posted by Vic Jacinto on 10 August 2008 in English.

I have just started a few days ago and have already mapped a bunch of the major streets. I will have to continue on this next weekend. It's a fun hobby. Drive around collect data then draw out the streets. I live in the interior of Colombia and maps for my GPS are not available. So I am hoping with this exercise I am producing maps for our city. But I still have one question after reading through the web site. I am hoping that after I finish mapping I can some how download a file to my GPS. Is this possible? I have an Amcor GPS and it has limited information on how to download file to the GPS. Is anyone more savvy with this that can help me out.
Thanks Vic
