Welcome to OSM :)

I noticed you requested a review here, everything looks fine except for the postal code which should have a space (V6Y 3C3).

Happy mapping :)

Already tried minimizing changeset size, see prior two:

changeset/172324147
changeset/172324142

Couldn't see any natural split for this changeset so said "screw it" and did the island in one

Oops, sorry I missed this tagging. Thanks for updating it :)

Hi there, I've reverted this change and added access=private to define the roads as private.

I strongly recommend you read both of these wiki articles:
osm.wiki/Why_can%27t_I_delete_this_trail%3F
osm.wiki/Why_we_won't_delete_roads_on_private_property

Others have had to do this before for the same reason from you, so be warned that if you continue to do this you may receive a bit more pushback.

Thanks :)

Hi there, and welcome to OSM :) I was going through recent changesets in the Calgary area and came across this one. It seems you've changed building=house tags to semidetached_house. Note this tag should only be used in places where there are two separate residential properties in one building, otherwise known as a duplex. I doubt these houses are duplexes, so I figured I'd add this note to encourage you to double check this. Thanks!

Hi there. I noticed you added a building=house on top of an existing building's outline. There's no point to this and should not be done. I've gone ahead and reverted the duplicate house for you.

Hi there, and welcome to OSM :)

I noticed you added the neighborhood name Cedarbrae to the entire residential area. A node and relation already existed for this: node/196430821 relation/18462890
As well, the residential area doesn't encompass the whole bounds of the neighborhood itself. As such, I've gone ahead and reverted this change for you.

Hi there, welcome to OSM :)

I was going through recent changesets in the Calgary area and noticed this one. You've added a building tag to an outdoor area, when in reality, there is no building in that outdoor area. way/1356791416
I've gone ahead and deleted the building=outbuilding tag for you since it's invalid here.

HI there, and welcome to OSM :)

I was going through recent changesets in the Calgary area, and came across this one.
It appears you've upgraded an alley from an alley to a residential road, when in reality this shouldn't have been changed, as alleys do not meet the definition of a residential road. I've reverted that change for you.

As well, you added a highway=pedestrian leading up to the rear of a house. highway=pedestrian has a very specific use case, whose use you can read about on its wiki page: highway=pedestrian. The only road meeting this definition in Calgary is Stephen Avenue, outside of some very limited specific uses. I've gone ahead and downgraded this to a highway=footway with access=private (as it leads to a private residence).

I also took a peek at this changeset and noted you changed the Bow River Pathway near the 12th Street Bridge to a footway. This, by default, doesn't allow bicycles. Given the entire rest of the length does allow bicycles I've gone ahead and reverted that.

As well, you removed the natural=water and water=river tags from the Bow River area multipolygon. This multipolygon delimited the area of the river itself, with ways through the river that defined water flow. I've reverted that as well.

Hi there and welcome to OSM :)

I was looking through recent changesets in the Calgary area and spotted this one. It appears you've changed cuisine on Inglewood ZenDen to cafe. This isn't a valid value for this tag, the original value of coffee_shop was, as you can read on the tag's wiki page: cuisine=coffee_shop. I've gone ahead and reverted that change.

Hi there, welcome to OSM :)
I wanted to check what duplex here means: are the houses combined with a fire wall in between them or are they separate as in two single-family homes?
There's some more specific tagging that can be done if they're combined and I just want to check if such tagging would be valid here.

(the tagging I'm curious about is building=semidetached_house if you want to read the description yourself)

Thanks :)

Hi there and welcome to OSM :)
I saw you updated the description and operator:type tags here.

OpenStreetMap keeps verifiability a strong principle: osm.wiki/Verifiability

The description tag isn't for writing an advertisement, not least because an advertisement isn't verifiable as above (description=*)
And the operator:type tag has only a few defined values, of which "Lighting Stores" is not one: operator:type=*

Gonna go ahead and revert this change for the above reasons, please don't re-add it. Feel free to add additional information as long as it's also verifiable. Thanks!

No replies in 4 days, I'm going to go ahead and revert the amenity=social_facility change. If you have reason otherwise feel free to follow up here.

This node isn't a Safeway, it's a gas station. The actual Safeway is already there, a few dozen meters south. Reverting for this reason.

This RBC already exists as way/222721445. Reverting.

161918762 11 months ago

There already exists a Starbucks right next to this node, reverting for this reason

161917105 11 months ago

Reverting for similar reasons as to changeset/161918270 (duplicated buildings and objects)

An alcohol store already exists here as way/51372653. Reverting for this reason.
