Gnash has had trouble with potlach since potlach got rewriten using actionscrip 3: http://www.gnashdev.org/?q=node/72
I dont follow gnash dev very closely, but I do not think they've made enough catchup work yet :(

Try a non-flash editor instead, like JOSM or meerkartor.

Or carry on using Potlatch 1 which is still available as an option.

Looking forward, Lightspark is probably more likely to support P2 than Gnash is.

Thanks to everyone,
I finally used meerkartor (which is powerful but needed to close some items to fit my screen ;)
which is a native debian package (aptitude install merkaartor).
A great tool bu that is a little bit annoying with it is you cannot dislocate a POI from a path once it had
collapsed (you'll edit the path together).

Potlatch v1 is also mostly unusable with gnash (pointer is freezing, help and contextual windows displays black except for links, etc)
