Hello,
Can you explain why you deleted node/8990466605/history here?
Best Regards,

For Canada, there's https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk-ca (relatively low volume) and https://osm-ca.slack.com/ (which I'm not active on - asking on talk-ca for signup details for that).

There's been a fair bit of golf chat on https://osmus.slack.com/ (for the US, but also mentions over-the-border) stuff) and https://discord.gg/openstreetmap (international). The best "guaranteed to reach everyone" international resource is probably still https://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/talk . Questions like "how many nodes can a way have" can be asked at https://help.openstreetmap.org/ .

Before you start diving in and creating introductory videos for OpenStreetMap I'd definitely introduce yourself to the community more generally. https://openstreetmap.community/ shows a bunch of local and international options.

In changeset/117652138 I have undeleted an unclassified highway way/35196734 that was deleted 2 days ago in changeset/117560834 .

Re "i can see my edits on earth2.io metaverse alpha candidate." I've no idea what that is (earth2.io just looks like an MLM site).

At the risk of stating the bleeding obvious, OpenStreetMap is very much about mapping the world as it is now. If you find it useful to use that data elsewhere, then (subject to the legal rules at osm.org/about ) - fine.
However, if you find yourself adding things to OpenStreetMap that don't really exist as you have added them, then that is not OK.
If you think you need to do that then please find an alternative - it's possible (but complicated) to set up your own OpenStreetMap server completely independently of anything esle, and update that. There are other OSM servers around - opengeofiction is one (although your data is likely "not fictional enough" for them), OSM's "dev" server is another, although there's no data permanence guaranteed there.

Re "is there software that saves out osm file on a esri overlay. this is what the offline lidar calibration tool requires. ", someone on IRC suggests "ogr2ogr", see https://gdal.org/drivers/vector/osm.html , but that's very much "it might work" rather than "yes it will and its easy".

@Solar%20Mountain%20Games , it might be worth looking at "JOSM" as an editor. There a few things built into that that you might find useful - one is the ability to "simplyfy ways" (which keeping essentially the same shape).
Some of the nodes around way/1032593797 are only 20cm apart - that's not "more accurate" (since we don't have access to imagery that accurate) it's just "more detailed". Before anyone else does anything with it they're going to have to reduce the number of nodes to a more sensible number, one that reasonably matches what you can infer from the imagery.

I'm not sure what happened here, but it looks like a bunch of unrelated pieces of wetland (that previously had their own tags on them, like way/40395265/history ) got added to one relation relation/5884686/history ?
Maybe it wasn't here but in the original NJDataUploads import earlier?

Whatever it was, way/40395249/history was never in a million years a recreation ground!

See comments on changeset/117636871 that explain what I did to patch up the golf course afterwards.

117636871 almost 4 years ago

The JOSM validator finds surprisingly little to complain about (21 warnings only, mostly power poles!) in the golf course area, so that is probably that.

The initial node drag was in:
changeset/117269178
https://overpass-api.de/achavi/?changeset=117269178

This changeset reverts that. A subsequent changeset changeset/117637326 is an attempt to undo the worst excesses of various overlaps here.
This was made much harder by a comedy multipolygon import of 12 years ago - relation/5884686#map=11/39.2011/-74.8025 - which is (a) clearly no longer accurate and (b) clearly never was one related multipolygon.

Bonjour,
Je ne sais pas ce qui s'est passé ici, mais une bouée météorologique au large de la côte atlantique de l'Afrique node/3815077900/history a été supprimée dans cet ensemble de modifications. Je l'ai restauré.
Meilleures salutations,
Andy

Hello,
I'm not sure what happened here, but a weather buoy off the Atlantic coast of Aftrica node/3815077900/history was deleted in this changeset. I have restored it.
Best Regards,
Andy

Thanks for fixing this - I've made one more minor change in changeset/117633281 to address a couple of stragglers.

I'm guessing that "shop=mechanic" might be a leftover from before this was a pub?
Cheers,
Andy

Hello,
It looks like the "amenity=pub" tag got accidentally deleted from "The Pint Shop" here - I've added it back.
Best Regards,
Andy
