over 10 years ago | The changeset source http://www.wainwright.org.uk/images/coasttocoast/route-amend-1-shap-abbey-la.jpg doesn't appear to be a valid source for OpenStreetMap (from the information contained in the image), but doesn't seem to have been used for most of the changes here?
over 10 years ago | Would it be possible to use smaller changeset bounding boxes and more meaningful changeset comments? "tagfixes" in no way describes the changes made, and this changeset covers the whole world, so it appears in everyone's history lists. There's no way to easily tell what changes are local and what are not. For example, the change to way/309399002/history makes complete sense, but a changeset comment for that that said 'changed misspelt "amenity=car wash" to "amenity=car_wash"' would be much more descriptive.
over 10 years ago | Well that didn't work. I'll have to have a look in more detail about what is needed to have the name rendered on the largest of the outers only.

over 10 years ago | The other bit of this changeset was nudging the nodes near the Coach and Horses roundabout to better match traces and imagery.
over 10 years ago | Oops - I think something went a bit wrong there. That school was created in the middle of the Atlantic. Where was it supposed to be?
over 10 years ago | Thanks - I've added a note note/389053 against the "supermarket" added by their other edit so that someone can check if it exists.
over 10 years ago | way/108703521/history is another one that was also a track.
over 10 years ago | Hello - has way/108703520/history really become so narrow that you can't get a 4-wheel vehicle up it? It used to be a farm access. It's designated as a public bridleway, but didn't use to be a "highway=bridleway" - it was wider than that.
over 10 years ago | Thanks - hopefully someone local will be able to pick it up shortly.
over 10 years ago | @djberghoff - thanks for removing it.
over 10 years ago | Sure, but it's about as far away from the picture at the top of highway=cycleway as you can imagine. In order to give map consumers such as routers a bit of a clue what's there it would help to include some additional surface tags such as mtb:scale=* , in addition to the existing surface tag. One other attempt to try and capture this sort of usefulness info is smoothness=* , although that's not so widely used.
over 10 years ago | Yes - it was the extension of way/177588683/history that caused the discrepancy (something that'll need to be fixed by a local survey) - but you didn't actually "fix an error" (or don't know you did - without a survey it's impossible to say) - you just made it harder to find the problem to fix.
over 10 years ago | Hi - just wondered what the source of the change to e.g. way/41931431/history was. Previously "source:name" was set to "Sign at S" (i.e. I'd walked past the southern end). Did you actually survey all of these or did you get the details from somewhere else? If the latter, it would make sense to update the "source:name". Also, if you have surveyed and found that the name wasn't what was previously reported (which might have come from somewhere like OS_OpenData) it's worth adding a "not:name" tag so that it's clear that you really have surveyed, and the name really isn't just a typo.
over 10 years ago | Are you sure that the southern bit of way/177588683 really exists currently? When I was last there (which was a while ago) it was something of a building site (and it didn't match the Bing imagery as it stands now), so you're "fix" actually makes the map worse, not better. It'd be much better to add a map note. I suspect I was the last OSM human on site (the previous editor Paul I suspect will have also been working from imagery) - or leave the geometry error in, so "surveying" mappers can be alerted to the problem and check what the real situation is. Obviously, there are huge swathes of the planet (e.g. the USA) without a good coverage of local mappers, but Derbyshire isn't one of those places.
over 10 years ago | Are you sure that this is really a "path" and not just somewhere where someone has managed to navigate between the trees? It certainly wasn't obviously a path a month or so ago.
over 10 years ago | way/218441386/history is nothing like a highway=cycleway - it's not designed for road bikes at all. At the very least add some tracktype or mtb:scale tags so that people know what to expect.
over 10 years ago | Thanks - I'm managing to get the "_" in the right place now in "leaf_type" but had completely missed the two "f"s.
over 10 years ago | Thanks - it's incredible what you find in the middle of the desert. Interestingly, the name on that Panoramio photo matches some the name of the OSM editor of some stuff just to the west way/307722814 - so if you want an opinion from the person who took the photo (assuming you're not already in contact), that's an option.
over 10 years ago | Wikipedia says "Civil parish Milford-on-Sea", so that disagrees with you. http://www.visitmilfordonsea.co.uk/ just seems to be some third-party spam site. The .org looks like a local community site
