over 10 years ago | Quite a lot of these nodes seem to be unused. Did any of them ever get incorporated into ways (e.g. parts of province boundaries) at all? Around node/1053815829/history there are a few that don't seem to be part of the boundary.
over 10 years ago | Any reason you've changed "historic=Martello tower" to "historic=yes" here?
over 10 years ago | While I can see the logic in using animal_boarding instead of boarding, was this change mentioned anywhere public so that people who might be using "boarding" on a map or in a data extraction get to know about it before it happens?
over 10 years ago | This has just popped up in a whodidit feed, so there's an edit local to me somewhere. How do I find out where, though? What was the self intersection and where was it?
over 10 years ago | Hi - I think that something went a bit wrong here. You've deleted lots of objects around here. Perhaps you were trying to create a map for your own use? If so, you might find something like "umap" useful - http://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/ . When you delete things from OpenStreetMap they are deleted for everyone, so you should only do this if they really don't exist any more on the ground. According to this forum thread http://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?id=30941 people have tried to get in touch with you but haven't heard back. I've therefore reverted this changeset so that the deleted roads are restored - see changeset/30806377 . If you've got any further questions please don't hesitate to get in touch - you can contact the data working group by email on [email protected] and you're also encouraged to get in touch with the local community - the forum at http://forum.openstreetmap.org/viewforum.php?id=46 seems like a good place to do that.
over 10 years ago | My apologies - I hadn't spotted that there the lines ahd already been split out (actually into 4, not 3 - so actually passenger_lines=3 is potentially questionable, assuming that one line isn't reserved for freight there).
over 10 years ago | Would it be possible to add _where_ the self-intersection was removed from in the changeset comment (and for new mappers' benefit, _why_ that's a problem)?
over 10 years ago | You appear to have removed "tracks=3" from way/310146771/history . Was that discussd anywhere so that people who might have been using that information were made aware of it?
over 10 years ago | What's the access here? Is parking restricted to customers of the Bowl Center, other local businesses, or genuinely free for anyone?
over 10 years ago | Just for info something went a bit wrong with node/3486992968/history - it got added at latitude 0, longitude 0 (I've since deleted it).
over 10 years ago | (continuing from changeset comment) I'm familiar with quite a few places on this list and at first glance _none_ of them appears to have a genuine Russian name. Some (e.g. Great Dunmow, Swadlincote) are little more than villages. If there's a need to make up Russian names as a data source for something external (in this case I believe a computer game) please do that outside of OSM. It's important because some of the places on this list (e.g. node/27160281 ) do have more than one name - Y Fenni (Welsh) and Abergavenny (English). Those are genuine, verifiable, different (not "soundalike") names for a place. To add made-up "translations" trawled from Google dilutes the genuine, valid name information currently in OSM for e.g. Abergavenny.
over 10 years ago | Hello and welcome to OpenStreetMap! I think that something's gone a bit wrong with way/334280162#map=18/53.48924/-1.14495&layers=Q - if you look at the west end of the footpath on the old railway line the junction with the A60 looks very confused indeed. Also the east end at way/334280162#map=18/53.49892/-1.11875&layers=Q doesn't seem to join anything at all? Unfortunately I can't remember myself (been a while since I've been down here). One more question - has the new Morrisons over the road replaced way/85437105 or is way/85437105 actually the new Morrisons? I stuck a fixme on that a while ago because I wasn't sure (the car park looked too small).
over 10 years ago | No, there's a stile.
over 10 years ago | Does the path run through the gate at way/306462408#map=19/53.16429/-1.24041 ?
over 10 years ago | I've always wondered (where boundaries follow rivers) exactly how those boundaries are defined, given that rivers move? In this case is there a text description that says something like "follows the centreline of the river from blah to blah", or is it defined in terms of exact coordinates, and updated periodically when the river moves?
over 10 years ago | Hello and welcome to OpenStreetMap! Just for info, the demo data that you were using with "learnosm" got accidentially uploaded to the middle of the Atlantic (don't worry - I've deleted it). It's not your fault - see https://github.com/hotosm/learnosm/issues/335 for the discussion at the "learnosm" site.
over 10 years ago | For info, lots of these address points were created at "null island" at lat=0, lon=0. I've deleted them.
over 10 years ago | For info, lots of these address points were created at "null island" at lat=0, lon=0. I've deleted them.
over 10 years ago | Yes, but that part of the address ("Mott Street Industrial Estate") is the estate, not the individual unit (which is the "Unit 1" part). You've changed it so that the "housename" is "Mott Street Industrial Estate", which makes no sense.
over 10 years ago | Is this change actually correct? I'd be very surprised if each individual unit was named "Mott Street Industrial Estate" in addition to having a separate unit number.
