Changeset When Comment

woodpeck's fixed some others and I've picked up a couple of stragglers in changeset/152074367 .

I can certainly remember Leak and Thorp and the Viking Hotel (and of course there's also https://check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/station/8208 ) - and I can still remember the smell of the old Federation Brewery!

Is there a sign anywhere? Maybe there's something visible from the path?
way/731794606 is another one that's "oddly named", but I haven't had a chance to check that yet.

I'm guessing that way/605408743 is misspelt?

Was the original data import discussed anywhere?

Gosh, there are a lot of "natural=peak" here?
Are these all really peaks, or are some of them just spot heights?
If some are "more like peaks than others", would some other tags such as "prominence", "natural=hill" or "peak=hill" work?
Best Regards,
Andy

How do you know, in each of the 3545 cases here, that the data that "AllThePlaces" has scraped is more up to date than the data that had previously been surveyed?

151571627 over 1 year ago

I've reverted this since from the comments above it was clearly questionable. Where there have been interim changes (6 examples) I've not touched those.

It may be that a case can be made for some of these addresses being wrong. Please make that case at https://community.openstreetmap.org/c/communities/us/78 .

Please follow osm.wiki/Automated_Edits_code_of_conduct for all changes like this.

If this is agricultural pasture then "landuse=farmland; farmland=pasture" might be the best option, or maybe "landuse=meadow; meadow=agricultural".

151556491 over 1 year ago

The "landuse=grassland" was my typo - see relation/13011741/history for the original value.
It's a patch of river bank, so "grassland" is perhaps a bit of a stretch. I didn't see any grazing on it when I was there but if used for that then maybe "landuse=farmland; farmland=pasture" might make more sense.

Is landuse=meadow really correct for way/992478432/history ?
From the available aerial imagery it definitely looks like some sort of farmland.
The changeset comment is "farmland=grass -> landuse=meadow ", but this (and other examples here) weren't previously "farmland=grass".

I've also reverted the others of this tag that were changed such as way/795506947/history . There's likely a better tag, though.

151556182 over 1 year ago

I've reverted this, for the same reason as changeset/151555979 . "farmland=grassland" is an unusual value, but it's surely less incorrect that "natural=grassland", which isn't farmland at all.
If you're familiar with the area, perhaps have a look at https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/farmland#values and see what specific value (not counting generic stuff like "field") best describes the nature of the farmland here?

If you have "local knowledge" of the address of every Starbucks in the USA, I'm impressed!

151555979 over 1 year ago

Is the change to way/999575898 correct?
If this is farmland, I'd expect it to be tagged as pasture or something, like way/999575890 just to the south.

151429883 over 1 year ago

@clegeard yes, other people have reported that, see https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/the-osm-standard-tile-layer-looks-wrong-white-lines-abusive-comments-etc/111583/185 . Please mention in that thread that the CDN is also showing incorrect tiles for you in that location.

Thanks - some other changes by @noun%20allaoua also look like a problem - are you going to fix those too?
(just checking before I do)
