Changeset When Comment

Your hosted version of iD seems to be writing "changesets_count=1" every time :)

I'd suggest that "note:opening_hours:covid19" on at least way/634146183/history should probably go too. Perhaps you'd like to check the rest of these individually?

Generally speaking just deleting data that you don't understand and is "obviously wrong" is a bad idea. Here for example, on the trees "highway" should probably be height. The recommended approach is to talk to the users who made the error to verify that rather than "just deleting the tag". After deleting the tag, there will still be an error, but no-one will be able to tell.

For the avoidance of doubt, we aren't allowed to copy from OS maps that show rights of way. Some councils have made this data available under a compatible licence (the overlay at https://map.atownsend.org.uk/maps/map/map.html#18/51.77215/-2.33899/O/P is an example of a map that shows that), but there isn't a current OS map that shows PRoWs with a suitable licence.

Hello Osm1980,
I hope you don't mind me asking about an edit from 6 years ago. It appears from the "imagery_used" tag here that you've used Google StreetView-based imagery here. We can't actually use that as a source in OSM because the Google's licence doesn't allow it to be used here - it would cause real problems for the project if we were found to be using Google Maps as a source.
If this is somewhere that you are familiar with, then "source=local_knowledge" would be perfectly OK.

Best Regards

@dpolovinkin No, "automatically as part of a block" is not an option, I'm afraid - reverts will need to be done on a case by case or at least changeset by changeset basis.
For example, this one is St Petersburg only, and looking at an example object https://osm.mapki.com/history/way/23021763 shows that name:uk was only added in May by someone who's known not to be a St Petersburg resident, and about whom there have been complaints about poor quality translations elsewhere.
However, it may be possible to verify some of the name:uk over in https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/1z2nhttps://overpass-turbo.eu/s/1z2n , for example.

@MrKooken For the avoidance of doubt Marc didn't say anything to me about this issue until after I had commented above.
However, "Misschien kun je beter in jouw eigen stad gaan prutsen." doesn't really leave much to the imagination, does it?

Hello,
Regarding way/950012192/history , you might want to have a chat with "Alex Foxfield", whose edit after yours here was "Connecting path together ".
Cheers,
Andy

Unless @miBoieq can provide a photograph of a place with a Ukrainian name in St Petersburg, I'd suggest that reverting this changeset was entirely reasonable.

Hello,
Andy from OSM's Data Working Group here. As a frequent flyer-over of and occasional visitor to centre-pivot irrigation infrastructure, I'd definitely have thought that it was better described in OSM terms as "farmland" rather than "meadow". Looking at an example such as osm.org/#map=15/43.3265/-120.5190 it's pretty clear that whatever crop that was isn't just meadow grass - crop rows and tramlines are clearly visible.
If you think that that is wrong, I'd suggest discussing it on the community forum (perhaps at https://community.openstreetmap.org/c/help-and-support/tagging/71 ).
Best Regards,
Andy

Hello,
In this changeset you've deleted a PIRATA buoy in the Atlantic, node/3815077900/history .
Was that deliberate?

Andy

OK, the area around this course is now reverted and the LDPs etc. are complete again. To see the old data, use https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/1yTD . It seems that the main thing missing now are "hole" ways such as way/1196053626 . These can easily be undeleted or just remapped (there are only 18 of them!).
Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Following the revert I've deleted way/1196119570/history

139862754 over 2 years ago

Reverting some poor quality 'delete and remap' that broke many existing features inc LDPs. See changeset/139626415

@LockOnGuy Please provide photographic evidence of the names of some of the streets edited here.

Hallo MrKooken,
https://community.openstreetmap.org/".
Hartelijke groeten,
Andy Townsend, namens OSM's Data Working Group
