FWIW, neither name suggested here checks out. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=%22gangstarr+house%22&t=ffsb&ia=web , https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffsb&q=Branford+Marsalis+House&ia=web .

Hello Kate,
Your reply contained "Unfortunately, the special feature of the selection of the package of edits is a rectangle, affecting neighboring areas and we can’t do anything about it.".
This seems unlikely. I'm sure that you will be able to adjust the software that you are using to upload these edits to split the results into smaller bounding boxes - just splitting off Kaliningrad would be a great start.
Best Regards,
Andy

... oh, and on the subject of reports, I think we've had reports by everyone about everyone now, so I don't think new ones that say "X is harrassing me" will add any value (everyone can see changeset comments).

One thing that does worry me is that there are accusations of copying from copyrighted sources at https://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-discussion-comments?uid=15458291 . That is something that we have to take seriously (and redact from the database) so if anyone see evidence of that (from anyone) please do email [email protected] with the relevant information.

Hello. Andy from the DWG here. I think it would help everyone if we could turn down the comments a bit? I appreciate the frustration on both sides here, but "None of the garbage that you spewed ... " isn't a comment that's going to win friends and influence people, is it?

(on things having multiple tags) it's perfectly OK in OSM for something to be a shop=something and a craft=something_else.

Even semicolon-separated values like https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/shop=car%3Bcar_repair are fairly common.

(on the state and city thing) it's actually less critical (though not wrong) than you might think to add things like addr:state, because OSM is a geographical database, and it's usually possible to determine "things that are inside other things". See for example https://nominatim.osm.org/ui/details.html?osmtype=N&osmid=5619990934&class=shop , and for Ridgewood, https://nominatim.osm.org/ui/details.html?osmtype=W&osmid=325933623&class=place .

"by a lazy mapper"?
You're not really doing yourself any favours here, are you?

Thanks - a shame it isn't possible to link to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Null_Island#Soul_buoy directly rather an article primarily about a fictional island :)

Obrigado. Esse método de contribuição da Microsoft foi bloqueado osm.org/user_blocks/5701, portanto, esperamos que isso seja um problema menor no futuro.

Thanks. That method of contributing by Microsoft has been blocked osm.org/user_blocks/5701 so hopefully this will be less of a problem in the future.

Hello, can you explain what your discussion comment "#MSFTOpenMaps #Map_builder_user" means here please?

Привет kate_rocketdata,

Hello kate_rocketdata,

As suggested by a few people at http://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-discussion-comments?uid=12100948 , please do use smaller changesets when uploading your "brand updates" for Russia.

Uploading Russian data in a changeset that completely encloses various countries threatened or invaded by Russia suggests at the very least an extreme lack of sensitivity.

Best Regards,

Andy Townsend, on behalf of OSM's Data Working Group.

Just to be clear - the change of "shop=musical_instrument" to "shop=yes" on https://map.atownsend.org.uk/maps/osm-deep-history/#/node/9627876643 was not OK. Please don't remove detail like this.

For the avoidance of doubt, "because it clutters the map" is not a good reason to delete trees :)

Thanks! "lit" of course.

Hello badenk,
Please don't upload guide paths to OSM. As you've seen at @%E7%90%89%E7%92%83%E7%99%BE%E5%90%88/diary/399110 they cause lots of confusion.
Best Regards,
Andy

Hello badenk,
You have been asked more than once previously https://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-discussion-comments?uid=3072104 to use better changeset comments. "Corrected points and tags" is not helpful at all - explain what you did, and what sources you were using.
Best Regards,
Andy Townsend (from OSM's Data Working Group).

Excellent - thanks.

Thanks - if it was me I'd probably split the path so that the gate's on one bit bit not the other (though many people just do it with access tags).
