Changeset When Comment

@Eric - Thanks, good to have confirmation of the names too for these new-build roads.

I previously suggested on changeset/119761959 that you engage with the Canadian community on the talk-ca mailing list. I've just replied to a comment at https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-ca/2022-May/thread.html#10415 , which suggested that rather than doing a "local survey" you've actually just been copying from Google Maps. I suggest that you engage with the community there and explain the logistics behind your other "local" surveys such as Winnipeg and Thunder Bay.

> I Can't win

Your answer included things that you'd need to do if using that source (which you copied and pasted from https://filext.com/file-extension/TAB but not things that you'd also need to do, such as working out where there were problems in OSM in the first place, and where OSM and your source differ finding out which was correct.
The problem is that because you've been "economical with the truth" elsewhere (changeset/120074372 , changeset/120101768 ) when you give half an answer here people are going to be skeptical.

Some text you copied from https://filext.com/file-extension/TAB is not a plausible answer. We can only assume that you have done _none_ of the above.

120074372 over 3 years ago

No you didn't.
This changeset can be visualised at https://overpass-api.de/achavi/?changeset=120074372 . That doesn't match Maxar at all. Only when prompted here did you correct it in https://overpass-api.de/achavi/?changeset=120480540 , which _does_ match Maxar imagery.

Please stop bullshitting and give a plausible answer. Explain your workflow.

So what did you actually download and what did you view it with?

Local knowledge over what timescale?

I can't vouch for either the "before" or "after" state of relation/13319965 ; only that I re-applied some name:uk that had been removed.

Andy

Hello,
Following a DWG complaint I had to revert a couple of changesets that affected some objects you've edited later here. My changeset is changeset/120479705 ; see e.g. https://osm.mapki.com/history/way/163701618 for what changed in each case.
Do any of your edits need re-applying?
What source were you using?
Best Regards,
Andy

120477876 over 3 years ago

How did you convert the download there into what you used here?

120477876 over 3 years ago

Please explain what data sources you have used on ALL your changesets. Do not just link to a random page on the OSM wiki that says "here are some sources that mappers in general can use".

Just wondered - is there really a gap at the southeast end of way/115087451#map=18/52.46801/-3.68178&layers=HN ? The imagery suggests that the road (with the cycle route on it) continues?

Andy

Привет,
Можете ли вы объяснить немного подробнее, что вы пытаетесь изменить здесь?

Hello,
Can you explain in a bit more detail what you're trying to change here?
Best Regards,
Andy

Hello borovac,
I know that you've already removed the data added here, but For the avoidance of doubt, you can't use wikipedia as a direct source of names as its licence is not compatible with OpenStreetMap.
You may, of course, be able to use whatever source wikipedia's data was copied from, if that licence is compatible.
Best Regards,
Andy

@Aleksandar Matejevic Please ask your team to update their profiles to point to the relevant wiki pages (not just github - though they can link to that as well if they want)

Bonjour,
Quel changement apportez-vous réellement ici ? Ce n'est pas un changement de nom.
Cordialement,
Andy

Hello,
What change are you actually making here? It isn't a name change.
Best Regards,
Andy

Hello,
Please ensure that you and your team follow https://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Organised_Editing_Guidelines . Currently there is no link from @borovac to any projects at osm.wiki/Organised_Editing/Activities that you might be taking part in. The only mention of Microsoft there is in "Oceania, Serbia, South America, Caribbean".
Please fix these issues immediately before any further edits.
Best Regards,
Andy Townsend, on behalf of OSM's Data Working Group.
PS: Documentation on your own private website (which is what github is) does not meet the requirements as set out at https://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Organised_Editing_Guidelines .
Best Regards,
Andy Townsend, on behalf of OSM's Data Working Group. Please reply here or email [email protected] if you have any questions.
