Hello GJF85,
Please use changeset comments that explain what you did and what sort of things you are actually mapping. See osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments for more information.
Best Regards,
Andy

@BCNorwich There seem to be a few problems here, hence I've asked GraceGallagher to reply: osm.org/user_blocks/5118

I’ve now changed everything that was deleted in changeset/105985206 to access=private .
However, I don't know that I haven't mistagged any (as yet untagged in OSM) PRoWs, so access tags may need revision in line with that.
Also "private" may not be the correct access tags for all ways; "customers" may be better in some cases - please discuss.

I've reviewed osm.org/api/0.6/changeset/105986923/download to look for designation tags (there aren't any) of explicit foot, bicycle or horse tags (likewise).
Therefore this does seem to fit with the presumed intent of changeset/105985206 . However, I don't know that I haven't mistagged any (as yet untagged in OSM) PRoWs, so this changeset may need revision in line with that.
Also "private" may not be the correct access tags for all ways; "customers" may be better in some cases.

Henry,
I'm trying to help you here. Simply deleting everything again whilst I'm trying to set access tags etc. in line with your presumed wishes is extremely unhelpful.
"Just deleting everything" will not work - people will simply remap what they can see from aerial imagery (without access tags).
Best Regards,
Andy

Hello Henry,
OpenStreetMap is a map of the world as it exists, not as you might like it to. What you probably want ed to do was to ensure that the access tags on paths etc. were correct. Why you chose to delete woodland etc. I have no idea. I'll restore them and then review the access tags on paths etc.
Best Regards,
Andy

For completeness, as http://osm.mapki.com/history/way.php?id=614958795 shows, the previous version by Reitu had the same issue. As per https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-za/2021-May/001302.html I'll sort out that other users edits too (once I've finished these).

Hello,
I'm currently trying to repair the road merge problems described at https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-za/2021-May/001302.html . Unfortunately as part of that I've removed the name:etymology:wikidata links. I'd imagine that the tidy-up will be complete in about a week, and after that it'll be safe to add the links back for Govan Mbeki et al.
A revert was definitely needed here because among many others way/743086293 had ended up with "lanes=2;3".
Best Regards,
Andy

Hello,
Andy from the OSM's Data Working Group here.
I'm currently trying to repair the road merge problems described at https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-za/2021-May/001302.html and noticed that the tags on way/738335233 seem implausible. "lanes=3;4;5;6;2" has clearly been merged from several previous ways. Please check the historical data using overpass when you see tags like this.
Best Regards,
Andy

Hello,
Andy from the OSM's Data Working Group here.
I'm currently trying to repair the road merge problems described at https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-za/2021-May/001302.html and noticed that you'd fixed the tags on way/64764741 . Previously the truck extended further south - I've restored this now. You can check historical data using overpass, in this case:

Olá, natureza do Google,

Cumprimentos,
Andy

Hello Google nature,

You've deleted a peak here - can you explain why? Lots of other people had contributed to it - you can see that at http://osm.mapki.com/history/node.php?id=2669903811 .

Also, please always use changeset comments that explain what you did and why. "a" is not a good changeset comment. See osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments for more details.

Andy

Hello S_N_T and welcome to OpenStreetMap!
OSM is a map of the world as it actually exists. It shouldn't contain any joke edits. You're welcome to continue mapping things in OSM - but please, sensible edits only.
Best Regards,
Andy Townsend, on behalf of OSM's Data Working Group.

"File:Null_Island_2017.jpg" doesn't look to be a valid image?
