Changeset When Comment
96097047 almost 3 years ago

Your comment noted, and if I was talking about Hwy 121, I would not have even raised the issue.
However this change set refers to way/29417099, which is a minor road I come along most days when coming back from the market to my condo, and have never seen a physical road sign there.
And with regard to tagging, its actually tagged as "name:en" so it shows up on my GPS, and Stephan's Thai OSM map, hence my observations.
Adding East/west to a Route or Hwy as I prefer to call them, is not done in Thailand, I agree, but my point was a N/S/E or W seems more apt than left and right on a map. You are entitled to your opinion.
I will double check today for that sign on this service road, but if I cant physically verify it, I'll delete it.
You will be pleased to hear my concerns are all alleviated now, in the knowledge you were talking about a completely different road, one which I have no concerns over the tagging.

Dave - just noticed your "name" for the service road (Im assuming its your edit).
I'm really curious as to why you would do that. Seems to go against the grain that you use a description of where it appears on a map. East/West might be more appropriate, as left or right is confusing depending on which way you are moving.
I cant see a sign as such, and in fairness, without a recognisable verifiable name, should we even give it one ? At the very worst, if a name:en was mandatory, then something like "Canal Service Road" would be more appropriate.
Am I wrong ?

Hi Robert - Yeah my mistake. I think a casualty of editing on the move in OsmAnd & picking the wrong item to edit.
I'm in Thailand now busily changing the "Tesco Lotus" shops to "Lotus's" as and when I pass them .... and the phone spellcheck really does seem to prefer "Londis" over the confusing grammar used in the new Thai branding.
Have corrected the mistake now & thanks for bringing to my attention.

kan-dala: you are not improving anything by changing the correctly tagged U-turns to the same as the side roads. Read the Wiki and please stop playing with the Thai map. I'm changing them all back as I find them.

I wish you would be more organised in your edits - you are drawing building outlines on top of existing ones !

101909870 almost 3 years ago

I wish you idiots would refrain from changing the U-turns, which were correctly tagged as primary_links, to residential/unclassified roads.
Its taking us local mapper ages to revert your misguided efforts.

I surveyed this track many years ago and clearly it was used by 4 wheeled tractors and similar agricultural vehicles.
So why do you just come and change it to a "path" in a clean-up, without even consulting the original mapper. This amounts to vandalism. If you have not been there ... don't clean things up. We call them tracks for a reason !

Is this really a highway=footway that follows the edge of the wooded area ?
Please review or I will delete.

107953510 almost 3 years ago

kan_dala #grab : you have added a number of small service roads here, all of which cross the westbound highway and connect to the east.
This is poor tardy mapping and I hope you can review your other edits and correct, instead of us local mappers having to fix all the time.
I have fixed the ones I come across.

Not really, other than examining all segments and look for the earliest date.

81434153 almost 3 years ago

If you check, you will see the original line was put in as layer=-1
I suspect this was a mistake and when I added bridges or split the line for any other reason, I become the new creator of that section. Perhaps you don't fully understand this as Map roulette is more of a game which looks at random "bad edits".
I see you have changed it, which looks correct, but hope you will now look at the entire railway and check it all for the correct layer tag.

Hi Rizki - please use your common sense here !! The water body was traced 12 years ago ... its probably changed by now.
The railway crossing it, is "under construction", so maybe they will build a bridge, maybe not.
If the water body has changed why dont you just go in a retrace to current imagery ?
No need to contact the original mapper.

Way: 978046909
pa-dala : you have attempted to "fix road geometry" again, and complexity messed this one up.
This is a U-turn junction. It was tagged correctly as a primary link.
You cant even exit the government offices and head south west, as you have drawn.
Check the street imagery before just guessing.
Dont apologise, just read the Wiki and leave existing mappers work along - we are far more experienced that you #Grab amateurs.
I will correct as we do for all your tardy work.

Please go back and revert every one you have done in this manner. Garmin based routing software often send you along to the next U-turn (when close), rather than making a turn at the light.
Think about it !

105085534 about 3 years ago

Please do not change the tags on these link roads. They connect two primaries and are not residential.
Read the Wiki !!
I change back every one I find - established mappers do not their work vandalised.

The Kaart team strikes again - this time upgrading a wooden suspension bridge, (just about wide enough for a motorcycle), into a full blown secondary highway.
way/591798130 to be precise.
It wasn't funny - I drove nearly 100km to get here, so see it would not go through !
Absolute Morons, but of course this guy has left now, so he doesn't give a c**p.
Question is what other carnage has he left in his wake ?

Thanks - I figured it was an error. Cheers

Bienegasse - I am very confused as to why you have tagged this entire road as a "bridge".
I have ridden it many times and I can assure you its a normal road in every way ?
The source=local knowledge, which is why I would love to learn your rationale.

webrian - Would you check that after adding the Nam Gniap reservoir outline, you have included within it, some pre-existing roads (assuming I have got the edit history correct).
Surely these should now be deleted ?
