I'm not sure at all: the change I made was just to connect up the two paths (and I assumed that I couldn't see things properly from the aerial photo).

The N/S path has an associated name, so I thought that it might exist. I also notice that there's something that looks like a path W of the hedge at the S end (and, in fact, you can see it in StreetView).

I think the answer is probably that "The Run" is actually the track from the NW and the stuff north of the intersection doesn't exist at all.

I'll tweak it accordingly.
