Agusqui. Hola.

AgusQui. Hello. Thank you for your explanation of these avenue classifications in Concordia. Is that a common mapping practice country-wide? Thanks for your assistance in aiding my understanding here.

Hello muralito. My goal in this change was to unify some of the broken classifications in Concordia & Salto. I will leave the classifications as you have them now but do you think that roads like way/598631853 & way/1137031299 currently classified as secondary could be unified to their connecting roads (in this case tertiary)? Curious about your thoughts on those cases. Thank you!

Hola praeteritum.

¡Mejor! - RiverBearings

Hello praeteritum . I noticed in the town of Diriamba that you reverted some of the incorrect data additions and modifications by joserrg12. These data errors are similar to the issues caused in South Sudan (changeset/109475684) by joserrg12.

Thank you for addressing these with your reversions, however some errors occurred in an earlier changeset such as changeset/59317166. In that changeset, joserrg12 included some incorrect trunk upgrades from residential as well as some name changes. By reverting in changeset/131830148, this left isolated trunk segments like way/158614715 in the data.

In addition to the poor classifications, also gaps in the road network that used to exist such as the missing residential road from node/1707778128 to node/1707778096, which subsequently leaves isolated disconnected roads like way/591389110.

Reverting the first changeset of this user in changeset/59317166 would solve some of these data issues and the others could be fixed with a JOSM validation. I am curious if you are planning further reversions in this area and others affected by joserrg12? Data validations could be done after if so.

Thanks and looking forward to hearing back. Best! - RiverBearings

Hello FerroCarrilOSM, thanks for working in Tenosique de Pino Suárez around the construction of the Tren Maya Corridor. I noticed there were two connections that were removed between the dual carriage of Avenida Constitución (way/248065609 & way/903650186 ) and (way/793103943 & way/793103944) but aerial imagery and Strava GPS traces support those connections still being there. Do you have any information on when construction will begin and end at these locations? I would suggest leaving these connections in tact until navigation is no longer allowed here during construction. Thanks for your help in advance - RiverBearings

SergioAMZA. Great to know that you have updated images of the construction. This helps the greater community verify edits that otherwise would look out of step with aerial imagery. Mapillary lets anyone capture and upload street-level imagery that can then be used for extracting map data. Multiple methods to upload imagery to Mapillary can be found here: https://help.mapillary.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001472029-Different-upload-methods

However, the simplest way to contribute images is to use the Mapillary mobile apps which let you both capture and upload conveniently with your phone. There are two main requirements for the images that you upload to Mapillary: location information (normally based on GPS) and timestamp. (A suggestion is that all imagery be in landscape orientation).

Here is an document that will help with the Android app (https://help.mapillary.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001661745) and another for the IOS app (https://help.mapillary.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001660785). Hope this helps and thank you very much for your imagery contribution! It is the best way to keep up with new construction and adds great value to the map.

And if the u-turn sections are still under construction, updating them to construction highways (highway=construction) until they are complete and open for drivers to route on is the best approach. Thanks again! RiverBearings

Hello sergioamza. I noticed that you changed the junction of Autopista Medellín-Bogotá (way/1098089033) with Calle 59 (way/88470973) by creating two u-turn sections and ramps that are not shown in any imagery nor in Strava or OSM GPS traces. You cited Maxar Premium but that imagery shows a physical barrier between the two trunk lanes and the previous simple modeling of the connection to Calle 59. Did you happen to visit the area in person by chance? If so, do you have any images that you could upload to Mapillary? Thanks, RiverBearings.

Hello Lolj. I saw that you removed a lot of uniquely tagged features in this changeset, such as the Malibú condominio amenity polygon (way/889311720), Conjunto Residencial Valmonti polygon (way/532997618) and left the main entrance (way/1119640292) to the El Olympo Condominio y Resort (way/1018558943) disconnected from Calle 200. If these were unintentional deletions, please revert them in order to restore the data to its previous state. Thank you.

Hello evgeniyakz. I noticed that you have been updating the Kazahkstan highway ref system like way/358461782 (ref=KF-24) in your recent work in OSM.

I am curious what resources you are using to make these updates. If there is a ref resource that can be shared with the larger OpenStreetMap community to edit OSM and/or verify future changes, could that be added to the osm.wiki/WikiProject_Kazakhstan page? Do you know if some of the previous ref values should be moved to an old_ref tag?

Your help in understanding the new ref system would be greatly appreciated. -RiverBearings

Thank you for the information about the tagging guidelines AmanBD. Just wanted to clarify if this resource: https://www.rhd.gov.bd/RHDMaps_new/Maps/Roads/7.jpg - is it approved by the local government to use in OSM before making ref changes from it? Generally, data that is being used in OSM either needs to comply with OSM license agreement (osm.org/copyright) or specific permission is granted by the owner for usage in OSM (osm.wiki/Potential_datasources). This clarification does not seem to be linked or mentioned on the Bangladesh Tagging Guidelines page - Best

Thank you for the information about the tagging guidelines AmanBD. I see your change in OSM on the primary route and how it aligns with those guidelines.
One suggestion for improvement: way/660041552 has the local name name=কালীগঞ্জ-ঘোড়াশাল মহাসড়ক and the name:en=Kaliganj-Ghorashal Highway tags on it, however way/680928364 just has the name tag in English (name=Kaliganj Road). Are you able to update that? - Best

Hello again portalaventura. I am reviewing gates in Brazil to see if there is ground imagery available that could provide support for additional access tagging in order to improve routing and I found a few instances that I could use your opinion on. The gates on node/1263400451 & node/1263400450 currently do not have any access tags and the ground imagery in https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=2682779505358549 shows the gates open for drivers. Currently routing engines route through the connecting service ways just to the east (way/462398900) to avoid these gates (https://classic-maps.openrouteservice.org/directions?n1=-29.722341&n2=-53.711243&n3=17&a=-29.724623,-53.711012,-29.720059,-53.711863&b=0&c=0&k1=en-US&k2=km).

I was thinking that with the presence of open gates the tag access=permissive could be applied here but I wanted to check with you first. Thanks for your help and hope you are well.

Hello Douglas Lim Goh Huat. Saya perasan bahawa anda mengalih keluar lorong Jalan Todak 3 (way/651192753 & way/784277920) dan mencampurkan klasifikasi baki lorong arah timur .

Hello Douglas Lim Goh Huat. I noticed that you removed a lane of Jalan Todak 3 (way/651192753 & way/784277920) and mixed the classification of the remaining east bound lane. The service road (way/160423795) was transitioned to a barrier=yes feature and thus now it has become non-routable for cars. Jalan Todak 4 (way/646368761) is now disconnected from the main road network at node/9845949527. Could you repair these issues and others in the changeset.

Also a section of Lebuh Tenggiri 2 (way/784281761) and a section of Jalan Todak (way/1073277491) were converted to oneways where they used to allow bidirectional travel. Do you have any information on the change here? If this was a mistake, could you set that to its previous state as well?

There are a lot internet resources that help understand the complexities of editing in OSM - https://learnosm.org/en/beginner/ - osm.wiki/Beginners%27_guide - Thanks and happy mapping!

Hello again AmanBD. Thank you for that information. Do you know if all user are officially approved to use that government resource in OSM for refs? If so, would you be able to update the wiki to archive it for others?
Thanks for your help!

Hello AmanBD. I saw that you recently added the ref=R773 to the route that follows the primary way way/56722319 to way/596809920. Do you have a resource approved for OSM that you could share with the community?

I wanted to learn more about the Bangladesh road system in OSM but the osm.wiki/WikiProject_Bangladesh page does not have much established information on the most important routes in the country. The proposed tagging page has a link to the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_roads_in_Bangladesh page but R773 route is not currently listed.
Would you be interested in updating these pages with road and route descriptions for the community’s benefit and so new OSM editors understand the ref and classification system here? Thanks in advance.

Hello GrabID_rizki sari.

I have noticed that you have made a lot of motorcar=no tag changes to roads that were previously residential without providing a source citation with your edit, and often without a changeset comment describing your edit which are OSM common practices (https://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Help/Action/Upload under “the changeset comment”).

As OSM contributors, it’s generally a best practice to only restrict car access where we have definitive proof in available OSM resources.

You changed Jalan Pelajar (way/499219368) to living_street and added a motorcar=no tag in changeset/119451626 (with no comment or source). There is mapillary coverage here showing a car driving down this precise road (https://www.mapillary.com/app/?lat=-6.1600658474348&lng=106.93333353086&z=17&pKey=326790108970341&focus=photo). These have a width tag of 3 which is objectively wide enough for cars in Indonesia.

Some of these features have aerial imagery that clearly shows a drivable road with cars on them such as way/727434487. In that changeset, changeset/120204508, you did not provide a comment explaining the edits nor a source for these changes either.

Could you please explain what resource you’re using to make these changes since they don’t appear to be supported by Mapillary or aerial imagery from what I can see? Thanks and have a good day.
