A few of us will hopefully be working on getting the rasters in as a traceable layer this weekend.

One of the challenges with importing the data is we don't know what's coming in a month's time. What we have today is Meridian2, which is useful but (on average) much more generalised than standard OSM quality, so can look pretty angular. In May, OS will be releasing VectorMap District for free, which may be significantly better. But no-one's seen it!

Lots of discussion of this on the talk-gb list and on IRC. In brief: licence probably compatible, but we don't want to just do an unthinking import and stomp all over what's already there.

There seems to be a fair bit of low-quality tracing from out-of-copyright maps in Perthshire, often with an unwarranted highway=tertiary. I'd suggest you're bold in deleting anything that you don't think is good enough.

Some of the more recent OOC background tiles are significantly better than the early ones, and can be of use in restoring the connections - especially if you've got a GPS trace to align them to.

No preview function yet - but the next version of Potlatch (Potlatch 2) has real WYSIWYG rendering with street names and everything, so hopefully that will help!

The spam is usually noticed pretty much immediately. There isn't much of a need for a report spam button. The challenge is stopping the spam from being posted in the first place.

http://trac.openstreetmap.org/ is where bug reports should be filed. But please please please check that your issue hasn't already been reported before filing a new one. For those two, you'll need to look under the 'nominatim' component.

If you're using Potlatch (the online editor), select the way and press 'H' for history (or use the Advanced menu) to revert to an earlier version.

There's a Perl script on the wiki somewhere that'll upload a GPX using the 0.6 API. But I'm jiggered if I can find it.

Potlatch supports Arabic, or any other, fonts if you have them installed on your system in a location where Flash Player can find them.

Some of us are actually working on making rendering easier so you can create your own custom rendering without toucan crossings. Bitching that existing renderings aren't exactly what you want - well, hey, that sounds like "negative undertones" to me.
