I believe New Botley is actually a historical name, referring to developments along the Botley Road. You can find it referenced in the Gazetteer and on OS maps, and used by the Environment Agency. That being said, I do agree it isn't used much anymore.

However, improving the place tag hierarchy may be needed here, as I would say that West Oxford encompasses all the area west of the railway station, including Osney Island and Osney Mead.

This changeset created an untagged way that doesn't look correct: way/307807061/ Do you know what it should have been? An extension of the fence maybe?

On another note, would it please be possible for you to create smaller changeset with better descriptions than just "oxfordshire"? It is quite difficult to track what is happening with some many edits in a single changeset.
