almost 7 years ago | Yeah, I'll take a look next time I'm down there (which is fairly often).
almost 7 years ago | Corrected on changeset #65923305.
about 7 years ago | Deleted in changeset #65322158.
about 7 years ago | Ah, I wondered why it wasn't already there. OK, I'll delete it and the changeset can always be reverted if ever the situation changes. To be honest, I assumed I'd inadvertently broken it in previous edits, hence the reason I added it.
about 7 years ago | Like a lot of cities Leeds quite deliberately doesn't have many classified roads within the centre because they want traffic to move around it not through it. The Loop is an important road but it's not classified so it's "just" a tertiary road. You can infer its importance from the relation: relation/4148004 I understand where you're coming from but the map has to reflect what actually there, not what you'd like to be there. Don't worry about what the map looks like. The Standard View is just one interpretation: osm.wiki/Tagging_for_the_renderer
about 7 years ago | If it's helpful, here are the road tagging guidelines for the UK:
| 64361310 | about 7 years ago | Hi again, You seem to be turning C-roads into B-roads around Leeds. Could I please ask why? Regards.

| 63985222 | about 7 years ago | Hi Rob, Which Ochre Dike is the right one? osm.org//way/273807323 or osm.org//way/639130726 ? You might have accidentally duplicated one of them... Regards,

about 7 years ago | Reinstated (now lamppost-mounted) in changeset #63714760.
about 7 years ago | Corrected in changeset #63379263. Thanks for spotting this!
about 7 years ago | Defix box gone as of changeset #63361680. (It may be back next year, mounted to the lamppost.)
over 7 years ago | Ah, it looks like I was tagging for the renderer. Thanks for setting an example :)
over 7 years ago | The junction of the road is wide so I mapped the space between as an area. It's that way to allow buses to swing round Oakwood Square as a turning circle/terminus.
over 7 years ago | Yes they are, although the defib box may move if the new owner doesn't agree to keep it going (in which case, I'll update it).
over 7 years ago | Hi. The Village Store is no more, I'm afraid. The property is now in private ownership, having recently been sold: https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-73821839.html
over 7 years ago | It looks like the fix has already taken effect. Thanks for correcting it.
over 7 years ago | Hi. I'm sure you didn't mean to, as you're an experienced mapper, but this changeset appears to have messed up a swathe of the West End of London. Could you correct it or roll back the changeset? Thanks.
over 7 years ago | I'm reverting the A644 and A642 back to trunk. Yes, this doesn't actually mean trunk in the Highways England sense of the term, it's just a term OSM use to define what we know as primary routes. It's not you, it's OSM and it's confusing, however these are yellow-text-on-green-background routes as anyone observing signage on the ground would note.
over 7 years ago | Those ways are signed York A64--no brackets--according to local signage on the ground.
| 58311382 | over 7 years ago | There's possibly some confusion with recent changes regarding how OSM represents A-roads. Apologies in advance if this is already known... OSM | Reality
*not necessarily a trunk route as maintained by Highways England, etc, but might be; we don't distinguish Here, the A64 should be trunk (ie primary in reality). |
