| 63797799 | about 7 years ago | If you come from the Wikimedia community, please read osm.wiki/Welcome_to_Wikipedia_users It describes the main differences between Wikipedia/Wikidata and OSM. Please also note that name:<lang=*> should not be added if it is a transliteration only which can be generated by a computer programme automatically. That is done already for the map at openstreetmap.de which transliterates all non-Latin names if no German, English or French name is tagged. (It's open source) The map service of WMF does not transliterate automatically but that's a problem of their service and must not be a reason to add names to OSM. Such issues have to be resolve by the consumer. osm.wiki/Tagging_for_the_renderer The Data Working Group will comment to this changeset. You don't have to do anything yourself. |
| 63797799 | about 7 years ago | Hi Pikse, I contacted the OSMF Data Working Group and would like to ask you to pause the "import" until they respond. Best regards Michael |
| 63797799 | about 7 years ago | Hi, if it is not clear how to understand the terms of use, OSM usually takes a whiter than white view and refrains from using the data. The terms of use describe a gazetter as "extensive usage". OSM allows any use of its data, a gazetter is quite common (e.g. Nominatim). The terms require us to informed the compiler of the database before any use. Our license does not require that. It does not require a credit to KNAB. The license is not compatible with OSM from my point of view. Could you please revert your edits (remove added tags, change modified tags back, …)? You are free to disagree with me. I appreciate it if you use the Talk or Legal-talk mailing list in that case. Best regards Michael |

| 63797799 | about 7 years ago | Hi, you have added Estonian names for various locations all over the world from a third party source in this changeset. When did you discuss this import on the Imports mailing list as required by the Import Guidelines? osm.wiki/Import/Guidelines Where is the explicit permission of the copyright owner documented which allows us to use the data? The license statement at the source you linked is not compatible with our licensing: "The data of KNAB may be freely used provided that the source is quoted. Extensive usage of the data (e.g. if a monograph, gazetteer or a map is based on the data of KNAB) will be possible on the presumption that the compiler of the database be informed of this usage beforehand. There will be no charge for the use of data, instead the user might receive information on the completeness and reliability of the data he/she needs." Please pause your import until these issues are resolved. Best regards Michael |
| 63789209 | about 7 years ago | Hi, welcome to OSM. You have added lots of stranges nodes with strange, unused tags in this changeset. All these nodes have a tag like stop=NOR_F_B_142. What is the purpose of these nodes? What do these tags mean? Are there any features on the ground which are represented by that tags? Objects added to OSM have to be observerable/surveyable on the ground. Please note that OSM is a public database. That data is visible for everyone (as mentioned on www.openstreetmap.org/welcome – you saw that page after you clicked on the email verification link). Best regards Michael

| 63824925 | about 7 years ago | Hi TwesigyeFredrick, welcome to OSM. I don't see any data-related issues when looking at your contribution. However, I have some questions/comments: What is the source of this changeset? I would like to ask you to use a proper changeset comment when uploading your edits to OSM. It helps other mappers to understand what you did and why you did it. See osm.wiki/DE:Good_changeset_comments for further information. Best regards Michael |
| 63856137 | about 7 years ago | Hi, you have added buildings in this changeset without a nearby road although roads are visible on Bing imagery. (way/637731472#map=19/-7.17485/112.12476) Could you please add missing roads when you add buildings to OSM? OSM is not a buildings database but should be useable as a map (of buildings AND roads and other features). Best regards Michael |
| 63094698 | about 7 years ago | Other roads you added have the wrong highway=* tag either. I suspect that way/629506748 is a primary road (connecting towns). It looks more like unclassified or tertiary. In addition, it has too many nodes. If you are unsure which highway=* tag to add, please have a look at wiki.openstreetmap.org, ask your supervisor or just use highway=road. |
| 63094698 | about 7 years ago | Hi Ayuyaisa, you changed a few roads from highway=residential or highway=unclassified to highway=motorway in this changeset. However, the DigitalGlobe and Bing imagery does not show a road which looks like a motorway. way/467776892 way/219200856 Could you please fix theses problems before you upload further changesets to the OSM? Best regards Michael |
| 63857951 | about 7 years ago | Hi, why do you draw buildings which intersect with roads? Don't you think that either the streets or the buildings have to be moved to the correct location? Example: way/337709750 vs. way/637724068 It would be best to record GPS tracks by driving along the streets in order to check if the DigitalGlobe Standard imagery has an offset. The streets have been added in 2015 and used either GPS or another imagery source (very likely Bing imagery at that time). Could you please fix this issue? Best regards Michael |
| 60351356 | about 7 years ago | Hallo, ich habe es in changeset/63825474 korrigiert.
| 63821392 | about 7 years ago | Hi Susan, Wheelmap is an application to edit OSM directly. All edits, except changing the accessibility of a location (wheelchair)=*, the description of accessibility (wheelchair:description)=* and the accessibility of the toilets (toilets:wheelchair)=* require an OSM account/login. Therefore, edits on Wheelmap are edits to OSM and have to respect the community. Best regards Michael |
