After considerable time massaging the New Jersey statewide Land Use/Land Cover data into a more manageable data set, converting it to .OSM files and a couple of false starts, bulk-uploading of the data has begun. Over two million nodes, approximately 68,000 ways and 2,600 multipolygon relations will be uploaded in 75 .OSM files. JOSM and bulk_upload.py are being used to import the data. The data is 2002, so feel free to delete and update as needed.

Could you provide some insight in the process of getting this done? Especially wrt preventing overlap with data that's already in the database?
Thanks!

There was very little land use data in NJ before the upload began. My export script does not check for overlaps/redundancy with data currently in OSM. The script does make sure that coincident points in GIS are exported as one node only. What are you looking to upload?
