Hello.
What kind of typo did you fix that's spanning the whole world?

128065997 about 3 years ago

You can use https://jmapb.github.io/nycaabs/, website created by another nyc mapper to search for BIN or addresses and it pulls out useful metadata from nycdob's databases with shortcuts to specific pages and other useful features.

I generally consider nycdob's data to be accurate. Difference in dates might be when the building was completed vs when that company started operating from that building.

Virtually all buildings in NYC have a unique id from the NYC Department of Buildings. It is recorded in tag nycdoitt:bin=*. Using that value you can easily search BIS database to find all the filed documents associated with that buildings. Similarly you can use zola and search either for this address or BBL id of this building and find all the relevant information there.

You seem to have overly-defensive attitude towards of your edits.. ๐ŸคจI'm simply trying to make sure that accurate data is being recorded on the map by reviewing edits and making sure people don't make mistakes. There's no need for "you got me" sarcasm here..

But that mapillary image doesn't show "lower" on the street sign either. I'm just trying to understand if that's an official street name or a name you came up with?

128055973 about 3 years ago

I'm not saying you created the upper name, but you did create the "lower" one so I'm trying to clarify the info to ensure the correct info is recorded.

Please note that you CAN NOT use Google Maps or Google Streetview for any mapping in OSM. It is copyright violation! Please see osm.wiki/FAQ#Why_don't_you_just_use_Google_Maps/whoever_for_your_data?

Hello.
I noticed that you use "NYSDOP Orthoimagery - Latest" imagery to make your edits. Unfortunately for now that imagery is at least 3 years old, which can cease you to make changes based on outdated info. For now Bing and ERSI imagery is more up to date, so please consider using it when editing. ๐Ÿ‘

Hello.
What is the source of these street names?
Based on the steetview imagery, it seems like only the "lower" street has name of West 134th. Upper street has no street name signs..

Last time I was there a while ago so I don't remember the specifics, but the layout that you edited seems strange..?

Hello.
Please split up your changesets into smaller geographic regions. That makes it easier to review them and doesn't needlessly notify people in unaffected areas.

What happened at node/420591228? It seems like it snapped to nearby road?

Hello.
Your edit unfortunately has a number of issues. The way you mapped this area indicated that ALL of it is a meadow. That is most definitely not the case. Based on the linked website it appears that in some places there are patches of grass and tree beds with flowers planted. You are most welcome to map and tag those individually. However having this chunk of the city tagged as meadow is incorrect and misleading.
Additionally you created a stop area relation for some reason? This also doesn't seem valid.
Considering this problems unfortunately this edit will be reverted.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™‚

Hello.
Your edit contains over 300 changes and spans almost 3/4th of the continental US making it difficult to review.
In the future please group your edits into smaller geographic areas, such neighborhoods or cities or states at most.

Hello.
I think the previous outline was more accurate, at least at the rear of the building since it more closely followed the building's footprint rather than roof line, which tend to be smaller than the footprint.

You can use https://jmapb.github.io/nycaabs/ to search by address or nycdoitt:bin code to easily find building metadata from the nyc database. also if you rightclick on the map there are shortcut for cyclomedia streetview imagery. very useful๐Ÿ‘
