Why is way/1065359518 so zigzagy? Is that a mistake?

In changeset/121646013 you incorrectly changed building address from 31-43 to 31-45 and placed "London Boutique" POI on a wrong building.
I fixed that.
In this changeset you again moved "London Boutique" which has address of 31-45 over building with address of 31-47.
Once again I fixed that.
Prince Tea House is 31-47 and its node is over building with address of 31-47.
London Boutique is 31-45 and its node is over building with address of 31-45.
Everything I said is recorded in the history of these objects.

Your edit is not exactly correct here.
You made existing tagged node part of the new solar panel shape, in essence you mapped the same feature twice, and that goes against the concept of osm.wiki/One_feature,_one_OSM_element

A better approach would be to draw a shape of a solar panel, then shift-select existing solar panel node, right-click with both of them selected and select Merge(shortcut key C.) That way all the tags will get transferred to the new shape and old node cleaned up. ๐Ÿ‘

Hello.
Rather than deleting old POI node and creating a new one, it's better to update old node with the new information. That way you are preserving history of that object and making it possible to refer to if need arises.

If a business is gone and that location is vacant, you can use delete biz-specific info and leave only an address node. However, the best approach would be to use lifecycle prefixes as documented in osm.wiki/Lifecycle_prefix ๐Ÿ‘

Hello.
As documented in osm.wiki/Names#Names_are_not_for_descriptions name should not have descriptive information(in this case "exit only" part.) As such I updated that feature with the correct way of handling exit-only entrances.
Regarding the Chinese restaurant, as documented in phone=* phone numbers should be written out in full, with multiple numbers separated with ;
I corrected that tag for you. ๐Ÿ‘

Hello uplander.
Street-site imagery clearly shows this location is 31-43, not 31-45.

You can not use copyrighted sources like Google Maps and Yelp to add data to OSM. This edit is going to be reverted.

Just because upland users don't care about copyright doesn't mean OSM should be punished for that.

Small tip: when mapping features that have right angles, such as buildings or perfectly square intersections, you can right click on that feature and select "Make Square" (shortcut key Q) to make it...square. :) That makes your mapping look neater and where appropriate matches closer to the real world.๐Ÿ‘

Unfortunately many crosswalks are mistagged either based on incorrect understanding of those tags, based on older street configuration or they were tagged before this more detailed procedure was developed. You can read more about this tag at crossing=*
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

121597350 over 3 years ago

Hello.
Please note that "crossing=marked" tag intended to crosswalks with STOP sign. Crosswalks controlled by traffic lights should be tagged with "crossing=traffic_signals". ๐Ÿ‘
