Changeset When Comment

Hello.
Multiple times now Amazon Logistics editors have been modifying these road segments to add oneway tag. However, as it was discussed and documented in changeset/118055776, this is now a 2-way road.
Please update whatever system you are using that keeps bringing you here that this a 2-way road.

Hello.
You tagged Broadway as having a bike lane on the right, however satellite imagery shows that it's on the left.
Similarly, you tagged E10th as having a bike lane on the right, however satellite imagery shows that it's on the left side.
Could you please elaborate this edit?

It would still be just "Columbus Avenue". You don't name sidewalks as "Columbus Avenue sidewalk" or "Columbus Avenue road for cars".. those are descriptions/properties that go into tags.

You deleted all address tags from Cookie's node. Intentional or by mistake?

Additionally, the building you carelessly mapped crosses over a sidewalk, doesn't match the actual satellite imagery and was drawn on top of an existing building. 👎

Hello.
Please note that as documented in osm.wiki/Names#Names_are_not_for_descriptions "name" tag is not supposed to be used as description.

I've seen your diary post from from message on slack. :)

Another useful site is ZoLa, for example https://zola.planning.nyc.gov/l/lot/3/1909/15 It has direct shortcuts to various other sources and links to cyclomedia streetview which might be more current than bing or mapillary.

I went to DOB NOW website, searched for the building BIN, then "building schedule of occupancy" and it was one of the fields in "Job Details" section.

I wasn't on the ground to see it. I don't remember specifics of this edit, but based on changeset comment I think there used to be either another building or a construction site but once I saw that satellite imagery had a complete building, I mapped it.

However, now that you brought my attention to it, with Mapillary I was able to see address of the completed building "135". I then looked up its nycdoittbin "3329825" and then in certificate of occupancy I saw it mention student dormitory on various floors and building classification as "H8-HOTELS". Based on that I made these changes in changeset/118600264.

Hello.
What is the purpose of ways 1040250054 and 1040250055? You didn't add any tags to them...

Hello.
When a location goes out of business, rather than outright deleting its node, it's better to utilize lifecycle prefixes as documented in osm.wiki/Lifecycle_prefix
Otherwise, at least delete only business-specific tags, but leave address info so that it becomes an address node and it preserves history of that object. 👍

Hello again.
There are 2 pretty significant problems with this edit.
First, that you mapped this bike lane as a separate path even though it was already mapped as tags on Columbus Avenue way itself. Your edit contradicts "one feature - one OSM element" guideline as documented and explained in osm.wiki/One_feature,_one_OSM_element

Even if this bike lane wasn't already tagged, the 2nd problem is you named this way "Columbus Avenue bike lane". Unfortunately, this goes against the principle of not using "name" field as description, as documented in osm.wiki/Names#Names_are_not_for_descriptions.
As such, unfortunately, I reverted this edit in changeset/118454799.

If you have any question, feel free to ask.

Hello.
I noticed that you tagged many curbs with "kerb=flush", however if you take a look at kerb=*#Tagging you'll see descriptions and examples of various types of curbs. For a typical NYC crosswalk with a cut curb and those bumpy plastic rectangles, "kerb=lowered" is a more appropriate tag.
I don't have first hand experience with this specific intersection, so I'm not saying your edit is wrong. However, in Manhattan actual "flush" curbs are relatively rare compared to "lowered". 👍

Hello.
Your edit is not exactly accurate. According to NYC's official street map at https://streets.planning.nyc.gov this street SOUTH of Rockaway Freeway is Beach 25th Street. North of it is Bay 25th Street.

Hello.
A small tip: you can right click on your crosswalk line and select "Straighten" option (shortcut key is S). That'll make your lines look neater. 👍🙂
