Changeset When Comment

Hello.
Which exact part of my edit changed this bus stop into a store?
The only thing I changed in this node was the name of the BUS STOP to match that of the store.
"Burlington Coat Factory" is not a thing anymore.

Would a gazebo be more appropriate for that building rather than pavilion?

Hello.
Could you please write more descriptive changeset comments? 3 random hashtags doesn't really help other mappers understand what you are editing. 👍

Those mappers are incorrect and what you are doing is tagging for renderer.
osm.wiki/Tagging_for_the_renderer
Mapping so that it looks pretty on the renderered map rather than having semantically accurate tagging.

Aren't you double-mapping that pedestrian plaza? You mapped it as both, pedestrian area and actual ways.

Hello.
Writing location name as a changeset comment doesn't help other mappers understand what you are editing. We can see that this Manhattan, NY by the location of your edits. But explaining what you edited would've been a lot more helpful.
Please see this article for more detailed explanation: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments 👍

Is it above- or below-ground garage?
Is that whole building garage or only part of it? The way you mapped it, the apartment building overlaps the other one without appropriate tags..

Hello.
Could you please elaborate what kind of road segment is this?

Hello.
Please note that whenever possible it's better to write full names, not abbreviations. If strings are too long, computers can easily figure out how to abbreviate them, however, it's virtually impossible to do it other way around. Please see this article for more detailed explanation: osm.wiki/Names#Abbreviation_.28don.27t_do_it.29

Hello.
Please try to keep your changes grouped to smaller geographic regions, like cities, counties or states. That makes it easier to review them. 👍

Hello.
Looking at satellite imagery of this intersection, it doesn't look like there's a pedestrian island here. Is that not correct?

Hello.
Please note that changeset commend "variations of edits" doesn't really help other mappers understand what exactly you edited. Please see this article for a good explanation on what makes a good comment: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments
Additionally, please try to keep your changes grouped into smaller geographic areas, such as a neighborhood or a city or a county. The way OSM works your current edit stretches over 4 states and needlessly alerts people in unrelated areas about this edit. Keeping changes grouped to smaller areas prevents that. 👍
Finally, when drawing right-angle forms, such as tennis courts, you can right-click on it and select "make square" or use shortcut key Q. That makes your edits look neater and more accurate to the real world.🙂

Hello again.
You tagged this road segment as not having bike lanes at all.
However, satellite imagery shows that there are shared bike lines in both directions. Is that not correct?

Is that not correct?

Yo NYMM Team, if you are going to be doing your spammy business on OSM, at least use correct tags!

It's not excessive for proper identification and grouping. :)
Does FDNY stand for Fruit Distributors of New York? ;)
As the linked article mentions, "Computers can easily shorten words, but not the other way (St. could be Street or Saint)."
It's better to be explicit here and let data consumers worry about how it looks.

115928184 about 4 years ago

Hello.
Could you please elaborate why did you tag that this doesn't match FDNY wikidata article?

Also you name this fire station with its abbreviated name. However, as documented here: osm.wiki/Names#Abbreviation_.28don.27t_do_it.29 it's not a good idea. 👍

Hello again.
Please note that generally it is better to edit the existing buildings to their current shape rather than delete them and create new ones. This way you preserve history of the edits for other to refer to.
