| 134086180 | almost 3 years ago | All the info I have shows that it doesn't exist there. |
| 134086180 | almost 3 years ago | Please provide some supporting evidence that it's there. |
| 134152527 | almost 3 years ago | You can create description= tag explaining what it is for users to possibly see, or a note= tag for other mappers to see if you think some feature might be confusing for others to understand(and possibly alter it in incorrect way). |
| 134152527 | almost 3 years ago | You shouldn't invent names for features just so that their labels show up on the map. That's called osm.wiki/Tagging_for_the_renderer and that's incorrect to do. For us mappers, the most important thing is to make sure that the underlying data is accurate. Then it's up to the different map styles to make sure that relevant features are as readable as possible. But if you fudge the data to look good in one map style, it might look wrong, broken or even not show up at all in another map style. |
| 134151024 | almost 3 years ago | Yes, it's perfectly normal for features not to have name= tag if they are unnamed...

| 134280962 | almost 3 years ago | Please note that addr:unit tag is intended for..units, suites, apartments, etc. If you want to tag floor number, you can use addr:floor= tag. Please correct his. You named a feature as "Materials for the Arts (ran by the city)". Is "(ran by the city)" actually part of the name or something you added?

| 134278824 | almost 3 years ago | Don't forget to add business name. :)
|
| 134278509 | almost 3 years ago | Hello.
For a business with multiple locations it's also useful to add branch= tag with the name of the given location to easier distinguish between them. If a business occupies the whole building(such as the case here), it's ok to add the business' tags to the building itself, rather than a separate node like you did. The way you mapped it is not wrong, but another option. iD editor comes with many preset for different business, this Extra Space Storage is one of them. You could use it to automatically pre-fill many of the common tags between all these business.

| 134225553 | almost 3 years ago | If they belong to the same gym or something similar, then I can see that being useful. But just grouping them for the sake of grouping them is not correct.
Please don't misunderstand. I'm not saying those features shouldn't be mapped. By all means, map them and add details with correct tags.

| 134157651 | almost 3 years ago | When editing buildings, please pay attention to nycdoitt:bin= tag. It uniquely identifies each building in NYC and allows to connect it to NYC's buildings database to look up various metadata on it. If you are redrawing a building, please make sure to transfer that tag to the correct feature.
