Rae Lakes loop

Added the magnificent Rae Lakes Loop trail.

osm.org/browse/relation/1710944 and

Some, ahem, innovations:

The permit station has adjacent toilets; they were simply amenity=toilets, I added toilets:type=ventilated_improved_pit

Some people going hiking get squeamish about these things, so they tend to be in trail books, and as such should probably be in the database.

Likewise, when I added the campsites at Lower, Middle and Upper Paradise Valley, I added a tag to each campsite indicating (unlike most backcountry primitive camping areas) that there are toilets=yes and toilets:type=exposed_pit

Finally, I added tags for bearproof_storage=yes to those campsites.

Fun!

also if you have the info
lit=yes/no
fee=yes/no
and when they are open would be very helpful :)

Had to look up "lit" -- makes sense, but anyone camping had better bring a flashlight/torch, eh?

And for public restrooms in the U.S., "fee=no" is pretty universal. Last time I heard of a toilet that charged a fee was back in the 1970s. Folks really hated the idea, and it went away as far as I'm aware.

Finally, open hours for any of the toilets I'm adding here will universally be 24 hours a day. I can't remember the last time I saw a public toilet that wasn't, at least out of the big cities where curfews and vandalism might change that.

Interesting. Are these factors a frequent issue in the northern U.K.?

fee=yes/no is a more or less universal issue in UK (particularly railway (train) stations which are more or less 100% fee. Toilets are increasingly only open with restricted hours, once the decision has been taken to close them the opening time is determined by staff hours. See Gail Knight's blog for a comprehensive introduction to the issues.

There is a good tradition about obsessing about mapping toilets and sanitation facilities on OpenStreetMap and often for very good reasons: How to map open defecation areas".
