Two slashes actually change the tag, and therefore it is not used in the render, which suggests the structure of the roads.
I use it the same way as comments in programming, temporarily disable, but suddenly it will come in handy. I forgot to delete it.

I would be glad if someone would occasionally look at my edits. Thank you.

Sometimes I comment some tags while working, I forgot to delete these.

Здравствуйте. А это так задумано было чтобы тротуар улетел на центр дороги или ошибка какая-то?

Hi Pascal

We've reworked the split algorithm a bit, made it more like ID. And I've edited the neighboring intersection.

Could you take a look at this changeset in terms of the correctness of saving history and other things. I'd be very grateful.

Hi, thank you for your feedback.

Please tell me, this is very important to me and probably to many in the future. What exactly in this package of edits breaks history, any example? I made a split of roads to mark parking and correctly indicate changes in the number of lanes. The nodes themselves were all saved, only objects like way were deleted. Does it make sense to save one small old piece if we cut way into 5 small parts? What is the point of this, where can I read and find out?

You can see the set of changes in more detail at this link. To see before after + diff tags of objects.

Why is your answer (help maybe) important to me? Because these edits are made in a special editor, which we are preparing for publication. And if we put algorithms into it (split, for example), which violates something, then other users will start doing it too.

Thank you for your help
