| Regarding OSM GPS Traces | 1) “Am I helping or hurting by uploading GPS traces with poor accuracy?” if it is sort-of-matching-reality I think it is still helpful. It may in general full in bucket of “people not caring at all do low-quality stuff, people caring more refuse to do medium-quality stuff”. And in this case having more traces is better I think, unless they are terribly bad or from travelling not on paths/roads. 2) AFAIK old data is stuck. 3) “My 100th daily walk along the same route as always?” fine to upload, but with very diminished usability “Off-trail wilderness exploration? Airplane flight path?” actively harmful |

| The OSM Iceberg | I quite like it, especially two lowest levels :) |

| Future deprecation of HTTP Basic Auth and OAuth 1.0a | https://github.com/openstreetmap/operations/issues/867#issuecomment-1889898618 mentions that it will stop various places to ask directly to passwords |

| Future deprecation of HTTP Basic Auth and OAuth 1.0a | I must say that looking at https://github.com/metaodi/osmapi/issues/144 and https://github.com/metaodi/osmapi/blob/develop/examples/oauth2.py this looks really annoying and laborious in practice for someone using scripts :( |

| Finding non-English key names for cleanup while only speaking English | Oh, and it is also danger of being to edit happy and then damaging data more than improving it (or ending with case where others think it happened due to lacking or missing communication). This also happened recently to me and I am still fixing it. |
|
| Finding non-English key names for cleanup while only speaking English | for first link target was supposed to be https://codeberg.org/matkoniecz/OpenStreetMap_cleanup_scripts/src/branch/master/script_assisted_cleanup/obviously_mistagged_tags_using_trivial_tag_fixes.py |
|
| Finding non-English key names for cleanup while only speaking English | Note that (based on my own experience) it is easy to fall into trap of finding a lot of things to fix then not managing to fix even small part of that. So I would encourage to balance fixing/finding things to fix. (BTW, I have obviously_mistagged_tags_using_trivial_tag_fixes.py and obviously_mistagged_tags_using_wrong_keys.py ) |

| Community.osm.org - how's it going? | Sometimes it takes multiple seconds to load page of text on modern laptop with 16GB RAM. Discourse is simply incredibly slow, bloated and poorly optimized like large part of software nowadays. |

Why you consider it as giving monopoly on the use of the OSM trademark on any territory? There are no plans at all to revoke other OpenStreetMap trademark agreements in France. I suspect that automatic translation failed here, but sadly I do not speak French. |

| osm_easy_api - Brand new Python package for parsing osm diffs and communicating with the osm api. | It may be a good idea to post about it on https://community.openstreetmap.org/ and/or submit it to Weekly OSM and/or post on dev mailing list. |

| Porównanie danych OSM z Warszawskim Transportem Publicznym | Propozycja: listuj te OK w osobnej liści na końcu by nie mieć ekranów “1 jest OK” itd. W https://matkoniecz.github.io/OSM-wikipedia-tag-validator-reports/ to fajnie działa. Może https://starsep.com/osm-wtp/ by mogło stronę na githubie linkować? |

| New quality checks in the Osmose QA tool for links from OpenStreetMap to Wikidata | Thanks! I will look at it! I wonder would it be feasible for you to detect problem of “wikipedia/wikidata linked multiple times and it is not waterway/pipeline/railway/roads/etc[1] feature where linking multiple times may be correct” (or maybe you detect this kind of issue already?) [1] I have list of such features and Ruby script trying to detect features invalidly linked multiple times. BTW, I tried editing using Osmose and run into https://github.com/osm-fr/osmose-frontend/issues/437 |

Thanks for this logos ( osm.wiki/Special:ListFiles/LySioS ) ! But note as they are based on already existing logo which is CC-BY licensed - you must credit its authors (sadly it is a bit tricky, see osm.wiki/File:Public-images-osm_logo.svg and its talk page) |
