OSM tags should reflect reality, not make decisions what should be shown on a map.

This kind of decisions should be made during map generation and not by mappers.

It is like deleting actually existing roads "because it looks ugly on a map".

At least in this case this population data is imported anyway, so it is not some huge loss.

Note that for tree genus/species wikidata tag in incorrect

species:wikidata and genus:wikidata should be used - see species:wikidata=* genus:wikidata=*

wikidata tag is for linking wikidata entry about some specific tree (most trees have no such matching entries)
