Why can’t Instagram, FB, Twitter get my location

You will have to gives us the place were you’re having problems with so we can check it out.

OTOH, even if the situation has been fixed in OSM’s database, it could take a while before those sites updates their databases.

It’s almost certainly not a problem with OSM at all, rather the problem is the IP geolocation database Facebook/Instagram are using.

Sadly as they make themselves impossible to contact their users see our names on the map and flood our support channels with their complaint instead.

Ok i see where your coming from concerning Instagram, but this site had me living in California as well, so it is not just social media sites, I had to correct where I actually live on this site as well, I’m not sure why couple of people who responded to me from here have to be so rude, especially since I conveyed to them it was NOT just social media sites, I didn’t deserve the tone of words used in response to my DESERVED question, since it did NOT just involve social media sites. I cannot believe this is how members here respond to a persons justifiable request, since this site does say to please ask any questions relating to our sites placement of where you live and it will be fixed as soon as possible. It does say to leave a corrected message and the real place you live if it shows it is not location. Thanks for your time, but obviously I expected to much from this site, as it does not do as it claims, and some of its members are not considerate of someone asking for a correction. I fixed it myself and expect nothing more from this site.

you will have to tell us what do you mean by this, what service you’re using, what did you do so it tells you ‘you live in California’. We can’t fix a bug if we don’t even know the ballpark of what youŕe doing.

Sorry if we came off like that, but I don’t see how I seem rude in my response, so you will have to enlighten me. I’m here to learn too. Also have in account that the majority of us are not native English speakers (the world is big!), so maybe our phrases are not 100% correct.

I fixed it myself

I don’t see any edits from you. What did you do to fix it?
