iriman, Here is a screenshot of the private messages with the user who made the edits:
https://tinyurl.com/osmiraqmessages
In these screenshots I explained the name changing for him and gave him other examples of how it's done in OSM. for example "الحرم المكي" is not named as "الحرم المكي المطهر" etc...
His thoughts at first for changing building=yes to building:part=yes is vandal, but we explained this to him with other issues he made later.
At the same time (the day of the edits) this was discussed with members of the local communities also in private messages and calls on telegram.
These edits were also discussed 3 days later in the OSM telegram group:
https://tinyurl.com/iraqosmlink
Please, don't waste our times again, unless you have a problem with the features.
Regards.

Sure, I'll send them in a minute. Just wondering, I have a few questions:
1- Do you have any problems with the changed name?
2- Do you understand Arabic? or did you just see a name change from me and start complaining without understanding? if this is the case tell me, so I won't waste my time with you again, since you've already done it so many times making me explain things to you to understand because you're no local.

Iriman, read the changeset comment, I’ve discussed this with the community and the user who made edits in telegram and he agreed on them.

>we can correct things when we see them.
True, but on border levels, you need to discuss the matter with the community, you can't change anything without discussing for such edits. In this changeset you edited Sharjah Emirate and Ras al-Khaimah boundaries, I didn't see you discussing this with of Sharjah, and Ras al-Khaimah communities.

>Both changesets you linked, only added boundary=claim and have not touched the UAE states.
Wrong, see again.

>About my changeset here, what I changed actually is discussed
No, you said you have points or notes, which I already knew before. You didn't say issues or you disagree with them. Even if we consider this as a "discussion" 1 day is not enough for you to change boundaries when there is no reply.

At the end, please discuss this matter first with the Sharjah, and Ras al-Khaimah communities before you edit their boundaries again.

Regards.

Hello again iriman, please don't fiddle with any of the islands in the Arabian Gulf region. The island was added to the relation of the UAE states 2 years ago. DWG did not have a complaint about this previously.
if you disagree, you can discuss it where it was first added: changeset/69606798
And: changeset/118277832
Discuss before changing anything.

Hello Andy, sorry for the late reply, I’m extremely busy these days and I guess it’s fine now to change the boundaries from administrative to disputed and remove them from the relation of the UAE so it won't overlap between 2 countries.
And when I’m free I’ll probably discuss this on the mailing list to see if the international community is okay to change it back to administrative.
Thank you.

SomeoneElse, I don't see how this differs from the Crimean Peninsula.
They both mapped exactly the same.
Russia have physical control over Crimea for the last 8 years, it's still part of Ukraine, while Ukraine has no physical control over it.
The Arab League (22 Countries) recognizes the 3 islands as part of the UAE, which means it's the most widely recognized. US, UK, France, and most of the international countries demanded Iran to comply and handle this situation in the International Court of Justice, Iran refuses just like the case with the Crimean Peninsula.
The current situation is that some Arab Emirates locals who live there have UAE passports, they have Arab residents area, they have Arabic schools, they fly the UAE flag on the Island, they say we are UAE citizens, etc...
The UN doesn't recognize these Islands as part of Iran.
We can not apply rules to one area and not the others around the globe.
Regards.

way/1014358547
Since when Crescent Moon Island Dubai controlled by Iran?

Hello SomeoneElse,

How this differs from Ukraine
relation/60199
And Russia
relation/60189
They both overlap in the Crimean Peninsula.

The current version of the disputed borders is exactly mapped the same as the Crimean Peninsula's disputed borders.

This edit was discussed previously in
changeset/123455005
Then
changeset/123506738

Regards.

Most names were Arabic, 2 mappers changed everything,
@Kurdish%20Map%20Lover and @Diss%20a%20pear
And other mappers map things in Kurdish not in Arabic, for example: changeset/123045080
I try to communicate first but they don't listen or answer.
Best Regards.

Hello Heval, the offical English name in Iraq is Sulaymaniyah, you can add Slemani as an alt_name but not name:en

As I told you before, please stop adding duplicates, it is already mapped.

iriman,

If you disagree with the existence of the disputed tag in OSM, you can start here:
osm.wiki/Template:Delete_proposal
But if you only disagree with the existence of this disputed area only because of "Those claims always rejected by Iranian officials." that is the whole point of the disputed tag existing. No country will recognize the land they occupied as an occupation land.

You said it is controlled by Iran who has full control over the 3 Emirati islands, true, and that is why there is a tag called "controlled_by:country" see: way/1054903303

Here in OSM, we always assume good intentions but removing only this feature that is relatable to your country, ignoring the fellow mappers who trying to inform you that what you did is wrong, and with you removing parts of the OSM wiki too:
osm.wiki/w/index.php?title=Disputed_territories&type=revision&diff=2355373&oldid=2328779 which was reverted by an OSM Wiki admin telling you that "those claims exist". All of these factors making it hard to continue assuming good intentions.

I have reverted your edit in changeset/123563171. Please read carefully what the others had told you, and what I explained to you and try to understand.

Have a nice day.
