Nice

If there are still way markers in the ground, I think it is still valuable to have them mapped. It can show how "decayed" there are, and could help people find the sections.

It is a disused doctors surgery (signage still in place, but note on the door says it's now closed).

I've removed the healthcare tag.

Sorry, I added that shop 3 years ago and I can't remember what it had in the window.

I do recall that area of Morecambe being very volatile with shops, it's possible the shop has since changed name and type. As such, it would benefit from resurveying much more than it would benefit from the specific type of shop specialisation being tagged. At least in it's current form we can tell it is some form of shop and would be good for a mapper to visit.

Please go ahead and change the tags if you have information about the area. OpenStreetMap is a wiki and you do not need my permission to edit objects that I have created or previously edited.

yes, those tags could probably be removed

Thanks for the message Armando.
I had been doing on-the-ground edits in a very small area of West Bromwich. As you can see, not many changes. It seems I had 2 POIs in South Africa from a trip a few months ago and I didn't realise they hadn't been uploaded so they got included when I uploaded all edits in OsmAnd. Easily understood if you look at the nodes in the changeset, and not my usual habit of editing.

Happy Mapping,

Hi Tom,
I agree with SK53 that it's better to stick to footway, and then to use other tags to give specific information.

In this case I'm not sure, as usually I'm doing the opposite change or at least trying to match how things have been mapped locally. Pushing my memory, I may have questioned whether that path should have been mapped at all. Signage doesn't matter as to whether it's mapped, but I think it might have been one that was only just usable by humans and not much more than a steep animal track.

Ah, I think that post should have sport=orienteering although the validation often complains.

Here is a photo of the marker in question: https://twitter.com/gregorymarler/status/1607787545626116099/photo/1

Hi DaveF,
I don't know what happened to your message. As per the changeset comment, I was using osm.wiki/Ordnance_Survey_OpenData#Boundary-Line as the source for town/parish outlines.

Was I using admin_level 11? The wiki suggests that 10 would be appropriate, and clicking a few in this changeset that appears to be what they are mapped as.

I didn't change that, but you might be right so feel free to check online & do an edit. It looked very similar (but bigger) to Houghall College in Durham which provides 6th form level courses.

There is a window in the defibrillator cabinet. When I was there it was empty. Most likely is that it had been used, and takes time for a replacement to be ordered and put in but I should expect that would be done.

So if you've seen it there, then please map this again as a defibrillator! I think you can see in my video (at 5:37) the window and that it's missing. I didn't get in touch with anyone to ask about it.

Thanks Daniel, I need to remember that when using iD Editor and teaching people (JOSM is my usual).

Hi computer joe. Your changes look good and nothing wrong with them from what I can tell.
The car park could be mapped as an area, and the service road into drawn to make it clear what road you enter from.

Welcome back to OpenStreetMap!

The service road you added is most likely "Back Ryhope Street" from OS Locator data and should have been moved into the correct place. Please do not edit OpenStreetMap in isolation, basic knowledge of North East England streets would have helped you make this a better map.
