The `=retaining_wall` itself is very short. And there's a large gap here.

140828800 over 2 years ago

This is not true. There is a large slope behind the `=retaining_wall` , which this is trying to capture.
`=cliff` has been widely used for slopes in HK.

1. I'm not the one who added it first
2. What is "the location" ? It's a few hundred metres long. As I said, move it if the position is wrong.
3. Are you sure you can drop down the slope directly from the village to Hong Lam Court?

`destination:ref=` is only used when the outgoing road is immediately that `ref=` . Otherwise the routing towards that is `destination:ref:to=` .

Please don't upload test edits. This is vandalism.

Someone else added it. The slope together with the `=retaining_wall` exists. Same with the slopes to the west in the terrain.

The bad idea here is you keep on deleting something others added without good reason.

140828800 over 2 years ago

Why don't you explain how it's non-existent?

140812911 over 2 years ago

`label` is not suitable, as `place=` is inappropriate for them.

140812911 over 2 years ago

Have you done any research? Your logic doesn't make any sense. The `admin_centre` are a placeholder only.

Please don't add such `name=` artifically . `building:levels=` and `building:part=` already represent this info.

140781010 over 2 years ago

Please move it if the position is wrong. Change feature if feature is wrong. Never delete something valid.

140721670 over 2 years ago

Can you please stopping deleting this? The slope does exist?

140641952 over 2 years ago

1. Any GIS or geo-database application could do a spatial join to append the `landuse=residential` `name=` to `building=`. On the contrary, you can't remove them as easily when considering button and label names, which creates clutter. Bus routes has the same problem.

140641952 over 2 years ago

There are many address formats which applications may not support. Even for UK. And HK is more complicated than UK in some sense.

140641952 over 2 years ago

1. That isn't relevant here. If you follow by the books, you would look at `addr:housename=` . Besides, another rule is not to artificially make composite names, ie combining different features' names.
2. It's the best option. All this does is make managing building names more complicated.
3. Not a data problem. Carto is a static raster map background. Any proper application should have more overlays and clickable buttons.

140641952 over 2 years ago

Please don't add the estate name to the `building=` . This is not the common practice, and makes the data more complicated.

140466604 over 2 years ago

Please notice that `residential=apartments` is described for housing estates, and that's how it's used in HK. Don't use it on single building ones.

Please pay attention that Hong Kong uses billingualism in names. It's not redundant.

3. Please don't use `building=hospital` for something that's not a hospital.
