I would like to contribute to this project as I find the prices of map updates for GPS navigation devices ridiculous - I may as well buy a new device every two years if I don't need constantly updated data.
Google maps is fine, and voice search and traffic updates sound good and all, but I don't think it is coming to my area any time soon...
My first update will be correct entries for the street I live in... coming to an OSM server near you very soon :-)

I have an HTC Hero, and use the simple application "GPS Logger" to create GPX files.
Merkaartor is used for editing (in openSUSE GNU/Linux).
